I was very impressed with Boshman's K98 scope / mount setup. Can you give us the details of how you did it?

Martin, my K98 is a custom Springer coversion based on a JG-BAR10 (VSR-10 clone) so mounting the scope is not a problem, just cut the standard 20mm RIS rail down into two small sections. My scope is just a bog standard 4x32 airgun scope, the mounts are classic army high mounts for 20mm rails from firesupport.

My K98 performed very well, although as has been said, there are only a few places where it can be effective at GZ. got a couple of good kills though.

“I wanted to come to the Volga at a specific location at a specific city. By chance it carries the name of Stalin himself. So don’t think I marched there for this reason – it could carry another name – but because there is a very important goal... this goal I wanted to take – and you know – we are very modest, we have it already."
Adolf Hitler, November 1942

"Comrades, Red Army men, commanders and political workers, men and women guerrillas! It is on your perseverance, staunchness, fighting skill and readiness to discharge your duty to the country that the defeat of the German-fascist army and the liberation of the Soviet land from the Hitlerite invaders depend! We can and must clear the Soviet land of Hitlerite vermin."

A great day guys , a tremendous turn out in feldgrau ,let alone on an open day. Lost you all for a while when I switched to the k98 , but there was loads of interest from the group I was tagging along with about the ww2 gear.
Had some good kills in the afternoon with the rifle but only really 'cos I got pinned down in that main gulley and was forced to snipe from the bushes.
