for me this is a great idea as im a full face mask user. i dont like using glasses since a past incident. and yes it can ruin a look but better ruin a look than your face in my book. i used glasses at the eagle game for the first time in 3 years of using a face mask and i found i was less eager to go forward than i would with my face mask. for me its face mask all the way and this will be a vast improvement on the predator type mask i use for normal modern theme events and open days.

when i get a bit of cash saved i will be seriously thinking about getting one and doing as gadge has suggested and making it look more face like ( in colour). well it got to be better than a predator coming out off no where in a ss uniform LOL!

i dont agree with people saying "man up" as that basically saying your a wimp etc. you should appreciate everyones choices.

i dont like full face masks, but i have found that in some weather conditions my glasses steam up and i have to go for the full face mesh mask, i wouldnt like those things but would wear one for safety reasons, much better than a bb mask that wouldnt look out of place in a sci-fi movie.

Looks damn weird if you ask me, way too Yul Brynner, and not much use when you want the Germans to see your war face.

Plus for glasses wearers, full face clobber is an added nightmare in terms of fogging.

Personally I'd prefer full face for CQB stuff (only cos I got peppered on full auto once at close range and its not something you forget easily) and I dont see a problem with my crappy mesh mask under a helmet. As far as "the look" goes, yeah sure it doesnt look as good but... meh... its only airsoft :)

Incidentally I used to own one of those fan based masks to stop the fogging issues. A lot of money for not much product if you ask me.

No longer involved in airsoft.

Where do you think I got my name from. It's not because I'm a good shot, it's because I was a good target.

Locutus, no offence intended, but what happened to make you wear a full face mask? I hope it wasn't Old 'Un forcefully tea-bagging you in the woods.

I think they're a good idea, kind of. Perhaps you could drill loads and loads of tiny holes (less than 6mm diameter obviously, more like 1mm) to make them perforated and paint them skin colour. Would be especially good for the less attractive amongst us such as myself.

Anne thinks they're weird/"ghey" though.

EDIT - just thought, they're a must have for Che, surely, he gets one on the nose EVERY time, without fail, it's almost as if he's actively trying to headbutt bbs.

One of the Gunman regulars has ordered and reviewed a Sykes mask a bit. Click the link to see more! http://gunmanairsoft.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=644

So far, looks like a viable option!

Here's my home-made answer.

One of the below is a genuine WWII British Gas Mask, the other is my patented GasoftMask(tm).

Can you tell the difference?

Intended for our new recruits because I don't particularly want to have to explain to my parents how my little sister got a tooth shot out by a tanaka next week....

I personally, use one of those neopreen style face covers, since it offers some mild protection, but doesnt look huge and bulky, not "exactly" authentic, but beats soem of the masks out there hehe

I use one of the neoprene 1/2 face cycling masks too but I'm currently working on a hardened plastic mesh version that'll hopefully be a lot cooler to wear and won't obscure the face.

If I get the shaping and rigidity right I'll do a run of them for anyone who's interested.

If you feel you have to wear a mask then these ones look OK to me - I'd like to see a range of expressions though - angry, scared, shocked, constipated, etc. Also a range of celebrity faces would be good. :good:

I must say I think those masks look quite good I just need a Donald Sutherland model, but I think on a hot day they will be ditched.

On the subject of mesh goggles there is a line of thought that they should not be used in airsoft.

Reason is if you have ever seen a BB hit a hard object at close range they split/ shatter and small particles will get through and hit you in the eye.

I'm not so sure about that. At Husky, I shot Peppered in his mesh goggles at 25 metres with my 500fps Tanaka K98 and, I'll admit that it put a little dent in them, but no other damage was done.

When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!
