  • Speedometer and cable for my jeep from Jemax-parts[/*2txo0aw8]
  • Sharovari, Gymnastiorka, Canteen, Cup, Spoons, trouserbelt, shoulderboards (armored), Enameled Star Badge. and a few other items I can't recall right now from OstFront.[/*2txo0aw8]

My M1942 Camo HBTs arrived today in excellent condition, but customs reamed me in the wallet again.

Apparently they don't trust shippingforms on the box anymore and open the box to check the value on the invoice inside... Sneaky bar-stewards.

Don't complain. Someone I know in the Axis reenactment scene is currently at odds with HMR&C over a bill. The receipt is for $12.00. they read it as $1200 and have charged him accordingly......

The problem is getting the bastards to admit them made a mistake.

Oh thats very scary flib. My stuff from Ostfront came in the other day too and its almost exactly the same as yours (even got the spoon too :D). I also got the pilotka.

You shoulda said about the hat star. I have 9 spares :)

Question tho. Do your shoulder boards actually fit your gymnastiorkas buttons? The holes on mine are too small distpite both being from the same supplier for the same M43 shirt.

Oh and can anyone vouch for Trident Military? I made an order the same time as the Ostfront order (for bits that OF didnt have in) but so far I've had no order confirmation and no reply to an email I sent a few days ago. Any ideas? Im slightly concerned as they have my card details!

I haven't heard anything bad about them if that's what you mean.

I got a gym and shoulderboards from an American who was getting out of RKKA re-enactment. His had bigger golden buttons on the shoulder, but the boards did fit eventhough they were rather crude compared to the ones I got of Ostfront. The Gymnastiorka and Shoulderboards in my picture above are for my friend Rubberducky.

Did you have big or small stars on offer? Because the ones on the ushankas are bigger then those on the pilotka.

Don't forget to sew in the sweatband in the neck of your gymnastiorka. It's a hygiene thing with Russian soldiers. They'd take it off again and wash it or flip it over ever few days and then sew it back on.

The sharovari I got were a size to small :( Sent them back to be exchanged.

Still waiting on the Kirza Boots from Front of Russia.

I got a new book today... rather happy with it:

http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/Yithdit/BeyondTheChindwin

Its a 1945 first edition account of the first chindit expedition by one of the column commanders.

Received a pair of boots from Front of Russia...they turned out to be useless modern boots. But I'm in the middle of making a trade with a guy on the RKKA board for a pair of proper Sapogi.

darn Ukrainians...

Ah, Salary has been deposited...let the shoppingspree commence!

After reading about the Author of "Das Boot" passing away yesterday, I decided to order another of his books:
U-Boat War - Lothar-Gunther Buchheim

Containing over 200 photos of the 5000 he took while sailing with the U-96, the real-life counterpart of the "Boot" from the book

Well i'm a now a teacher who went to a grammar school built in 1705 where all the teachers had taught my father before me (in the 60s not 1700s :) ), they only refered to you by your surname and said thing s like 'black mark in your book my boy...'

We had a list of old boys who had died in wars on the old chapel building wall carved in, you know the sort of thing...

So that might be why :)
