my local neighbourhood airsoft retailer! airsoft armoury, my original plan was that I didn't want to carry twelve mp40 50 round mags for a standard CIA/Gunman ammo limit so I considered fitting the CA midcaps into mp40 shells but this was going to cost me £8ish for each mp40 casing and a lot of milling to shave down the CA mag to fit in it. sten mags are the correct size so milling will be much reduced and they are a lot cheaper to aquire and although they do weigh fair amount, I will only need 6 of the buggers!
sorry if this has gone way off thread guys, I will let you know how I got on in the weapons thread once I've got them finished.

quick question for yith, are the SOF bush hats the same ones that WPG sell and are they any good? (I wore my serge and denison last sunday and need a much lighter outfit for the summer!)

yes... they are the same as the current WPG hats... I have one from SOF. WPG are supposedly getting some new ones in the new year... maybe better, but we'll have to see.

BTW, 12 MP40 mags fit nicely in 2x MkIII 37 pat pouches... :)

I only wear one pouch as my service revolver is holstered on my left and have a sten bandolier to carry the sten mags. I have found that my MkIII pouch will hold thompson mags but is a bugger to fasten down with mp40 mags!

That's just cos you have the wrong type of MkIII pouches... I have about 5, only 3 take the mags well.

The revolver holster can go round the back.. ;)

Franka Rollfix camera.

My grandfather took this from a German PoW in Italy during the war.
(I only found out about this yesterday when my Dad gave me the camera.)

The shutter seems to work fine... I wonder if it's still usable... hmmm...-- attachment is not available --

Don't know about the provenance but it's the right age. Basic model with low spec shutter and lens but meh!

It takes 120 film so no problem about getting the film. Potential problems: slow/sticky shutter, cloudy/fungal lens, pin holes in the bellows (you may be able to spot this with a dark room and powerful torch, fogging through the red frame window (cover with black tape when not winding on).

I'll lob you a couple of rolls of colour film which you can get processed in Sheffield - the results won't have the clarity of modern digital shots but they will have soul. :good:
(B/W is do-able of course with a bit of commitment but just to try it out above method is the quickest, cheapest and easiest  )

Ace stuff! I'll definitely give it a go! :)

There's a little slider cover thing on the frame window. The bellows look good, I'll check for pinholes though. The lens looks good to me!

A set of 37 pat webbing from sabre as well as a cap bade :) hopefully the BD from WPG will follow this week.

also a stock finish kit. as I feel the finish of the wood on the marushin m1 i have is a pile of wank. Started it yesterday and its just had its first coat of finishing oil. looking a million times better so far. and far more like a battle carbine.

I know to the stud counters, this is probably a sin, but I've just ordered some of these

Having seen guys slipping and sliding in wet conditions, I thought hob nails arent for me, and as I'm only on my first loadout I'd protect my ankles over authentcity.
In the rules of looks alike they'll be fine but I'm sure I remember the expression for "Rubber heelers" somewhere ;)

No worries with those boots (or any others) - safety and comfort first so no sin there...

From RSov;
Ver2 gearbox (for use as spares for my non-WW2 G3  )
Metal bushing set for Ver6 gearbox (for my Thompson)
Shim set for fitting of above ^
2 Metal cased G3 mags (for above mentioned G3)
2 Thompson hi-cap mags* (for above mentioned Thompson)

*I think I'm going to try experiment and cut these down to the 20rnd size.

Will do!
It'd be an easier conversion if I had some 20rnd low-caps which I could use the outer shells from, but if I did own some I'd only just keep 'em as low-caps!
