Brit windproof smock (tan) and mountain cap. Plus a folding spoon/fork that actually fits in pocket so I can't lose it as easily, just need to drill an lanyard loop through it. Also so non WWII French Foreign Legion Jungle boots.

'If You Survive' by George Wilson.

This one has popped up as a recommendation for me on Amazon a few times. Have you started it yet? Is it any good?

Joe

I'd give it 4/5. A well-written book.

Gunner Who? by Spike Milligan, not only a cracking read but pleasing to know that PBIs 're-enactment display life' has been spookily accurate down to even our timetables being spot on!

Also got some WWII desert chukka boots for a tenner (not dated but spot on whatever year they are from) and an NCOs leather wristband for rank when in short sleeves which i swapped for a flectarn parka!

Yes please, i couldnt find the other two in Blores and if i coudl borrow the first one off you at Crich that woudl be excellent. Cheers!

Have a look at his daily itinery near the start... its pretty much exactly how we timetabled Crich!

Delivery of Russian bits from http://www.Schuster.ru arrived today.

There was stuff for a few other people, but I got:

Gas Mask bag
Entrenching tool carrier
shoulder boards
plash strap
revolver holster
mug

All excellent quality. The uniform bought for Wladek is also superb.

Price was good, but we did order this a few months ago and it's taken a while to be shipped, though they staying in contact throughout. It was shipped with a tracking number. Western Union payment was a worry after the troubles we had with FoR. But Schuster have come up with the goods! Oh and no Customs charges, so it was a bargain!

BTW, schuster are based in Belarus.

Just got an M42 Paratrooper jump suit from WWII Impressions. Suit is of excellent quality, but is somewhat neat in the shoulders despite me ordering a size bigger than I usually use.

That tends to be the cut of uniforms/ shirts of the era: seams right up on the shoulders.

Yeah I had to size up on my M42's as well. Didn't stop me splitting the crotch anyway!

Just ordered 2 more 8cm Mortar ammo boxes and 2 more 900 round wooden ammo boxes (plus a few odds and sods) from one of my German suppliers. Shipping for the whole bloody lot was a measely 25 Euro for a shitload of bulky heavy stuff. Result!
