Yet more British plastic cap badges incl. the Border Regt and RTR.
Also just ordered a repro A-Frame and bag from 1944 Militaria. Very nice version with correct double loops on the straps and original buttons and grommets on the bag.

A US 'Water' jerrycan with the wide mouth and still usable I'm assured.

Russian breeches from HIKI1620 on ebay. Nine days from order to arrival, not bad at all.

They're a good colour, slightly more material in the lower leg than I'd have liked, but good if you've got big calves. Material looks like a reasonably hard wearing cotton twill. If you take a size 36 inch waist I'd go for the XL size.

Now I dont have to squeeze into a size 32 pair anymore and my Russian uniform is complete, roll on Stalingrad game, hooray.

Deutsche Pionere im Einsatz 1939-1945 book

Is that the Horst Riebenstahl book? aka: GERMAN COMBAT ENGINEERS IN WORLD WAR II A Photo Chronicle ?

I am currently awaiting my copy to arrive!

“I wanted to come to the Volga at a specific location at a specific city. By chance it carries the name of Stalin himself. So don’t think I marched there for this reason – it could carry another name – but because there is a very important goal... this goal I wanted to take – and you know – we are very modest, we have it already."
Adolf Hitler, November 1942

"Comrades, Red Army men, commanders and political workers, men and women guerrillas! It is on your perseverance, staunchness, fighting skill and readiness to discharge your duty to the country that the defeat of the German-fascist army and the liberation of the Soviet land from the Hitlerite invaders depend! We can and must clear the Soviet land of Hitlerite vermin."
Joseph Stalin, November 1942

1928 stock arrived and it is gorgeous. Still covered in storage wax (anyone know a good method of removing it?) and all the metal work is pristine.

The conversion looks to be a simple one, remove part of the lower receiver and install a mounting plate for the stock. Rewire the gun to hold a lipo battery in the cavity behind the gearbox and bobs your uncle.

unfortunatly the space behind the gearbox is needed to accomadate the gearbox when you slide the upper an lower halves of reciever together,im afraid you'll have to carve a space out of the stock for the battery .sorry

Give me a big enough hammer and a place to stand and I could fix the world.
