Swiss arms S92 bolt action sniper, (basically a faux wood stocked g-spec) might try to convert to springfield a-like or just wrap it in hessian sack

That does look rather nice doesn't it!

You may (if your lucky) be able to swap the vertical hand grip over. It's certainly worth trying!

Good luck with this one.

A pair of unusual, to me, post war French shelter halves.
Tan cotton like the ones you see listed as DAK but trapezoidal rather than triangular.
dated to mid 50s
More plastic cap badges.

I doubt he'll be that lucky. The Cyma "M1928" grip mount is completely different to that on their the M1A1. The "M1928"'s is similar to the later 3/4" version, rather than the 1/2" of the older ones. Also, the screw in the Cyma's vertical grip is at the wrong angle.

A box of parts, which, when assembled, will become a Star L1a1 SLR. Happy days! (Not WW2, I know, but, very nostalgic for me!).

I've just 'real-steel' wood-kitted one of those - it is pure love.

My latest aquisitions:

From Whitby Goth Weekend:
A very clean and tidy No.1 jacket, that fits me, with a complete set of "King's crown" Royal Engineers buttons on it - bought for me as a present by my girlfriend!

From Doncaster carboot sale yesterday:
WW2 wooden boxed voltmeter,
WW2 wooden cased ammeter,
WW1/Interwar wooded cased voltmeter (albeit, missing it's lid),
All for £20!

The bloke selling them also had some other nice stuff (anklets, Type-F field phone in transit case, Chindit sloutch hat, etc...), but overpriced (in my eyes)!
[N.B: If any of you Far Setting Sun guys are interested in the sloutch hat, he said he's there nearly every week.]

A beautiful rifle and one of my favourite Airsoft guns. Sees regular service with my 1970/80s British loadout. With a wood kit, bears a distinct resemblance to a G1, just what you need for that early Bundeswehr look, when they were still wearing gaiters and splinter tops.

Today I received a new cap badge for my ushanka.

Cheers

I was looking at how cheap these are going for atm, and have been tempted myself to get one. Where did you get yours from? I have had many great dealings with D&B Mil and there prices started at £165

Ryton do them for about £110 if I recall.

Ah yes they are kicking around for a little more but still dirt cheap! Most De-ac sites list there weapons as old spec or new spec style. However Ryton doesn't list that. But i presume if it cocks and dry fires its an old spec, but he doesn't even mention that on any of his guns and as they
"are presently importing material from the former USSR - this ranges from United States weapons shipped to help the Russian war effort in 1941/42; captured German weapons from the retreat from Stalingrad and Kursk and the whole range of weapons used
by the Russian Armies during World War 2 to the present day"

mean that they are all new style de-ac? :?: Cos if they are that would explain a cheaper price.

As far as I am aware there is no "old" or "new" spec for bolt actions. That only applies to SMGs and pistols. All bolt actions should cycle.

And yes, I've been tempted with a Mosin for just over £100 as well!

Yith is correct, the deact spec for bolt actions did not change as it did for automatics.
If you look at Rytons website they have a separate section for old spec deacts.
D&B are consistently more expensive for the same thing though they often have a better selection. There are only so many sources for weapons to deactivate.
