Look what came through the post today
Aren't the green pioneer bags post-war?
'Ted' the 7 week old Sable Deutscher Schäferhund pup - picked him up this evening

1946 dated British Ammo Boots - in good condition. Going to have a good look at the soles because they need a bit of work. Old boy who they belonged to jumped on D Day and Arnhem - these were the pair he received after he was demobbed and rejoined the Army. - Cost - Absolutely free!

Jammy git! Hard to find proper cobblers these days so try Big Al on the WWII forums; http://www.wwiireenacting.co.uk/forum/v ... 80&t=79356
I know! Count myself as very lucky to get them. They need stretching as well. Gonna get a shoe stretcher then sort out the soles.

Sorry for being so slack at updating;
In the last month or so I've acquired quite a few more Field 'phones (mainly Type F MkIIs again, but all fully boxed), for free.
A mint condition unissued prismatic marching compass MkIII, still in it's little cardboard box, from the nation Vintage Comms' Fair, for only £40.
A British inter-war/WW2 map drafting set, in its original Newey poppered canvas (same canvas type as the MkV/MkVI/MkVII etc.. gas mask bags) roll, with all the brass compasses and dividers all matching and broad arrow stamped, a beautiful mahogany and brass parallel rule, drafting pens, little Bakelite lead pot, ranging/distance cards, etc... for only £6 from Derby Cattle Market carboot!

Sounds amazing! Sometimes I wonder if all the good stuff has disappeared from those dreary sunday morning stalls, but then I spot a Jem ( not quite as magnificent as a map drafting set) and I remember the amazing treasure that can be found between the broken toys and faded pictures.
When your sorted, post a pic, Im training in design, so I love these sort of things

It normally has, Vickers has got it all!
McV, are you soon going to be touting yourself as an alternative telecoms provider?
You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier

Broad arrow and manufacturers' (B.W.C) marked.
The canvas roll does look a lot more dirtier in these photos than it does in 'real life', must be the lighting picking up all the brass staining more.

A gymnastiorka for a tenner. 1970`s in green, looks like a 35 model but with epaulettes so I have to remove them. It has some odd little belt supports, a bit like the ones on the German tunics ??
