Yer your right about SOF BD, just off that bit. I shall look forward to seeing the early war stuff, I was tempted but I accidentally went too early war by about 130 years and have got a Napoleonic Brit kit instead. Can't justify BEF kit just yet, maybe soon though, I do love a bit of pea green :good:

Ooh I'd be interested to see your Napoleonic kit, I saw Tim's French uniform on the evening before Kasserine and it was very impressive!

I've only got to buy a few more webbing items, sort some Blanco out and get a gas cape for my early war kit to be complete ish, so hopefully it won't be too long till I have most of it together.
Will definitely have it in a useable state by the next early war rifles game. :good:

Also received my Italian Bandolier. In original green gray leather, super condition and all for £25 from a Gent in southern Italy. Looks really smart, definitely prefer it to the standard double pouch and neck strap, doesn't get in the way when your prone. Here's a nice pic of captain Corellis mandolin, with all troops wearing them. :good:

But does it come with the outrageous "Italian" accent?

I think the outrageous accent come as standard but you have to pay a bit extra to get the Nick Cage special

Regards,

Ralph

Sorry Booted, didn't see your earlier post! Indeed I actually watched the film for the first time the other day, the uniforms were good, old cages accent, not so :D and of course Penélope Cruz being in it all helps the matter very much indeed 8) I just can't get over Cages accent, especially with his grandparents both being from Naples! I on the other hand have a incredible accent, and when i opened my Bandolier with free accent I couldbt help but spout off pizza toppings :D

Well As you know new here, moreso due to the addition of an AGM Mp40 rekindled my interest in the WW2 aspect.

I have had for a fair few years a m43 ski cap I picked up due to it covering my huge noggin. The cap is sterile, so will need sort badges and maybe jaeger edelweiss badge.
Just paid out for one of these with some of the optional's http://www.ww2sale.com/field-grey-ss-as ... os004.html

Next sort pants out and find some boots size 13. Plus pouches and field kit and insignia.

You won't go far wrong with these boots (Austrian para boots), both me and my son have them and they are a true bargain:

I really hate to be the bearer of bad news Stonewall but you might be in for some disappointment with your order from ww2sale.

Have a read here: http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic.php?t=182263

It seems that their items are bad quality and that they're customer service is more or less non existent.

If you have the option I'd recommended finding a way to get your money back or cancel the order. If you paid with PayPal then you might be able to open a dispute, you have 180 days to do that.

There are a few very good UK based kit suppliers who sell reasonably priced, good quality products:

http://www.epicmilitaria.com/
http://militaria-net.co.uk/index.php
http://www.richardaunderwood.com/

It's always best to ask on the forum before placing any purchases, the people here are always friendly, happy to help and can help steer you in the right direction regarding kit, vendors, etc.

Hope this helps and I hope you can sort something out.

Moss.

I have had a chat with them via their live agent option.

Been through the thread of negative and few positives. They have assured me Good quality, so bugger it I am letting it ride and see what happens. Worse case if not happy will be getting a refund with credit card help.

So I guess I sit tight and wait the 25 days or so. Look to the end of March and see what it brings. Who knows maybe they have their act together, maybe not. Will find out end of March I guess.

That thread is from 2011. I have no personal experience of the company but am vaguely aware of others who were rotten a few years ago and have since cleaned up their act.

Bought my insignia for my Heer loadout - Litzen, alternate shoulder boards and national emblem. As well as the gas mask canister with strap - it's all coming together slowly.

While visiting a test house up in Teesside, I took the liberty of detoring to a shop which I found by Googleing "antiques collectors shop near *said place*".

I picked up a 1943 British hot food container priced £22, a 1938 military use dated tennon saw priced £5, two mint unissed 1960s 2" mortar bandoliers priced £8 each, and a 1942 dated Vickers MG water flimsy priced £12.

After working my Southern charms, I got the lot for £35!

British '45 dated pup tent. FINALLY! paid a little on more than I wanted, though it excludes pegs. Looks unissued, but I'm sorted for the freedom trail now (legally too lol ), worth the £35. :good:
