I've used my 5.56 rifle cleaning kit....

brushes work well, not risked a rifle pull through yet, think it will hurt kermit?

bit of cleaning cloth on a brass head and nylon line?

I wouldn't pull anything through the barrel thats likely to damage it. If you must, then as Yith said, make sure the Hop is completely off. I've been known to use some bits of 2 x 2 with a pull through to get rid of really stubborn muck left in a barrel.

I use an ak74 sectional cleaning rod with 4cmx1cm cloth, it works fine as long as the hop is off and you`re not rough. Gotta get one of those 1 inch paintbrushes though...damn good idea :D

Not actually an acquisition but a loan for undetermined time.

A Canadian WW2 Field Service Cap from WDRob, until I can find my own WW1 copy. It's to go with my USAS uniform (deadline for which is April 2008).

Many of the 94th Aero squadron wore British or Canadian FS caps instead of the American Overseas cap. I have not been able to determine from which country, but I suspect Britain. As the RFC pilots and crew wore these too.

Perhaps one of you chaps knows?

Rick

Finally managed to pick up my replacement pair of 49patt BD trousers last night. Shame they didn't get to me in time for D-Day, but they're still great.

They're great, aren't they. I'm looking to rebadge mine for the winter F&O game.

800 7mm caps for my PFC Enfield.

These took 3 months shipped (by ship) from Japan. I was beginning to think that they'd been seized and I'd been suspected of being a terrorist or summat... all for a few plastic caps ;)

shipped (by ship)

 well I never

3 months seems an awful long time to wait, were they held in customs most of that time ?

I chose to have these sent by surface mail... you're not supposed to send explosives by air! ;)
