I bought a Brit BD from him a couple of weeks ago and all went smoothly.
I got an M40 "Hohenstafen" tunic and M43 single button field cap from him back in October before the pound nosedived. Both pretty good value for the money at the time and they turned up within two weeks. The tunic was £35 I think. But the same one is now £51 so I'll be buying from the UK in future. Having seen the standard of gear on sale by UK dealers at the "War and Peace" and "Military Oddessy" shows, I think now I'd have been better off spending £70 or so on a better quality tunic.
Mind you, the shoulder boards on the spearhead tunic looked a bit strange to me as they were set forward of the shoulder seam. Also the buttons, although made of thin aluminium were painted gloss black. I cut a slot in a bit of card and stuck it down behind the button and gave them a gentle going over with some steel wool. Came up a treat. If you don't go too mad you get a nice dull silver pebbled buttons. Saved buying new buttons.

The shoulder boards should be forward of the seam for enlisted men. Some officers tunics have them on the seam but not all.

Cheers Poacher for telling me that. I looked through a few books and couldn't find any pics of shoulderboards set forward like that. I remember reading somewhere that Spearhead stuff wasn't that accurate and thought they'd just got it wrong.

I've just received a furry kharkov parka from Spearhead and I am very pleased with it. I have compared it with an original one and it's a very good copy. It's actually fake fur as described but it looks and feels like the real deal. Cost including postage (Parcelforce with tracking number)was just over £200 and Spearhead sent me eBay messages continuosly until I had received it. This is the second item that I have received from them with no problems so I would definitelyuse them again ![]()
