The point I was trying to make when i started this thread, was that we need to be more careful about how we address 'incorrect' kit. on one hand you cant say a brown boiler suit is acceptable and ww2 japanese kit isnt.
:)

I think you'll find we sort of have Neil, its got to fit the theme, as we said its the most inclusive list for playing WWII airsoft we could make.

For the umpteenth time, asking people to stay in theme is *not* stitch counting.

Experiment:

Post your uniform pics up on WWIIreenacting.co.uk and ask for comments.

You will really see what stitch counting is, here your getting advice and constructive criticism in its broadest terms.

I think this is ridiculously swinging the other way, people will be scared to ofer advice in case they are called 'anal' about it.

surely if you want to just create some fantasist look and play in some unthemed environment there are plenty of other days you can play at.

Cant we leave the WWII days to those who *want* to have the high suspension of disbelief and *authentic* uniforms we state inthe CiA constitution.

Last time i really want to say this... stitch counting is picking up *minor* errors in an impression not pointing out something is utterly wrong.

Pointing out something is utterly wrong is just being honest.

There is a minimum counts as, if you want o play in that level of kit then thats fine, but dont ridicule people for wanting to raise the bar, its makes you as bad a s the 'stitch nazis' you lampoon.

And as we've said why put pics up if you dont want comments or perhaps those of a sensitive nature should suffix their pic wiht a disclaimer 'hand holding nice comments only please'

:)

Seriously nobodies been a stitch nazi on here yet... really they havnt.

Getting a bit tiring now this.

So do i but i dont want the term 'stitch counter' falsely applied.

Its a bit offensive to those making the effort to help.

exactly. which is why i am not doing re-enacting the kit requiremnts are onerous beyond reality. I am not lampooning peole who want to raise the bar. I think its a good thing.

Let me list another example on a more positive note so that you dont think I am being an anti-stich nazi nazi. When i posted my 'grumpy gebirgsjaeger' pics - even though the kit is way off in terms of accuracy I got a lot of very encouraging comments. And to me that is what the forums should be about. I started this post because there were a couple f threads that were gtting a bit.......intense. I felt it was important to say something. Its been an interesting debate. (ive enjoyed it anyway)

As Oldsweat says so rightly it is supposed to be FUN. Getting your uniform together is to me personally a big part of that. It is a quandary though making someting as open as possible while maintaining a theme, and i suspect that the two ends of the spectrum wil never be totally resolved as long as people make an effort..

Perhaps it is time this thread was closed before we get raspberried again!
I will now rasberry myself as a sign that i mean no harm!

I think that the amount of work people put into their gear is up to them, as long as it looks the part that should be it.
Some people like to 100%, thats there choice. Those people should not pick up others on theirs.

Feck stitch counting , if being anal about pretending you are a solider from 1944 then join one of the many re eenacting societies. Thats the place for OTT uniformness .

If your desperate to relive your army days then go join the TA !

Airsoft is about FUN . We are adults playing around with toy guns shooting each other FFS , lets get a grip here fellas and ladies. I love all the uniforms people turn up to our events in , and TBH it makes feck all difference to the day as long as people have made a bit of an effort and everyone has a good time. I personally find the 27th Panzer approach to airsoft the most enjoyable, Yellow toppers all round !

FFS Have a laugh , lifes too short and too full of bullshit already to turn a fun hobby into an anally serious & miserable experience inc this forum . You can go to ###### .....well..... you know the forum for that

So - The to next person found stitch naziing,

.....it is the duty of all forum members to post the word "Raspberry" after the offending post . With a bit of luck the more po faced will soon get the message and the rest of us can get on with having a laugh .

27th Pzrs FTW !

FINALLY IM NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT THINKS THIS...perfectly said :-)

and to all you that ripped me to pieces on this RASPBERRY
