Nice but looks to me as if your webbing is way too far down on your hips. Even my webbing (from the above image with the three dudes, I'm in the center) is too far down on my body.

You want the tops of the basic pouches sitting just below your armpit (like within 2" I believe), and you might experiment with moving them around to the sides a bit so you can go prone without having them hoisting you off the ground uncomfortably.

This is my n00b idea of how the 37 pattern webbing is to be worn, perhaps the more experienced guys can chime in.

Thinking about putting together a niche Gebirgsjager loadout.
Have found this picture and think it looks quite snazzy but have one question..
What pattern are the trousers?
I am torn between they are either splinter or a faded italian camoflague.
what we think?

Cheers for any help :good:

Yeah webbing is far too low and loose and what's going on with the beret? Get those things sorted and it'll look awesome!

Look alot like faded italian camo to me, or perhaps the modeller produced the Italian camouflage in splinter patter colours (for some reason?)

Yeh I've got all my hair under it so it looks off. Normally when I try it on I tie my hair back at an angle

As for the webbing I'll have to have a play with that some time

Thanks for all the feedback guys :happyclap:

You can see where the belt is supposed to go if you look at the South Staffs kit guide. It needs to be up high so it doesn't flap around and you have enough spare strap at the back for your water bottle, e-tool (and small pack in marching order). Without a smock on, it lines up with the bottom of your battle dress jacket.

As above, you need the pouches a fair distance apart or you can't lie down.

Cheers

The colours are good for wartime Italian camo. Wartime cloth could have quite bright colours, never as garish as the post war stuff but brighter than the trousers on the doll which is a good general example.
I have a wartime German zelt made from Italian cloth that has similar colours to the dollies trousers.

Its the one on the right, the one on the left is also wartime Italian pattern, the background is post war.

They look like faded Italian camo, but that's not a typical Gebirgsjager thing. Standard feldgrau is. The top you see is the GJ anorak, only worn by GJ, over their feldgrau tunic.

The usual camo worn by GJ tended to be white, the Windjacke and the Windbluse ( mountain anorak ) are particular to the GJ and the Bergmutze cap is significantly different from the normal fieldcap ,other than that it was field grey, mountain boots and gaiters or puttees (again particular to the GJ) are quite different ,but standard low boots or jackboots were also worn .
"The German Army Mountain Soldier of World War 2" by Wade Krawczyk and Bart Jansen , is quite a useful pictorial guide to their uniform and equipment .

Indeed, they have the right to arm bears and in some states you can own an anti aircraft gun but you can go to prison for having certain types of sex with your wife... brilliant isnt it?

Note i'm not having a dig at America per se here, more the inconsistancy in state laws.

No don't worry... one of the things I really like is the relative freedom we enjoy with firearms laws, but like you said, there are alot of dumb laws on the books.

Wow

Well unfortunately I can't buy a Vickers machine gun without a special license, so not everything. ;)
