Yes i have pics of painted webbing & suits, it was very common (if not mandatory) for most units in southern France
(for example 509th & 517th). Same for the modified jump suits (sewn in bandoleers, reinforced stiching...).
There are even colour pictures of painted Garands

Flag was always worn on the left arm by the 509th

Ive decided to show myself! Me and my 9th SS setup. Other than a wool tunic, and some more insignia it looks to be correct as much as I know. It is a WIP, so if you see something wrong TELL ME :D !! I still need a wool tunic as the one I have on is HBT. I do have a full set of webgear, with the exception of a few items. K98 Bayonet, bayonet frog, scabard, entrenching spade,Belt, belt buckle, low boots, gas mask tin, mess tin, wool trousers and y straps are all original, Everything else is reproduction. I do have an original M40 Stalhelm, just dont have it on. Let me know what you guys think and please dont hesitate to let me know what is wrong with it because I am a beginner to this hobby, and it is a great learning experience. I tried to give em a B%W look, and I must say, they turned out to be to my likings! I especially like the last one.

Cheers
-Tobin

Finally aquired a wool M36. No insignia yet, but also got some jackboots. Let me know what you guys think. Quick question, Ive seen alot of German Period photos, though I dont believe ive seen any ss men wearing m36 tunics. Did they? I know its an early article of uniform, but ive really only seen it on heer, or wermacht.
