Avoids trackers?
No i meant the SS blacking boots. Marching boots come in brown leather too IIRC and had to be blacked?
The SAS wore german boots occasionally as if you're 70 miles behind the lines assisting maquis groups its probably a bit tricky to pop into see the quartermaster for a new pair if you shred your ammo boots
May well have been affectation 'because they could' too. If you look at pics of jeep patrols 44/45 there is masses of non standard kit.

I'll shut up then.
If your boots are brown you need to black them up. An SS vetran told us at Detling they never wore brown boots with their field uniform, depite what orders might have been given. They were always black. It was the one thing he picked out about our uniforms. Everything he said was OK except for the guys who were wearing newly issued brown boots. Just a bit of info I thought might be of intertest.
My boots are brown but then they're meant to be as they're tropical boots, not normal low boots.
That is how one vet from an army of millions remembers it.
There is plenty of evidence that shows boots were worn black, brown and every shade in between.

The one with the 4 different periods is good.
Very Nice Nicoli, looks like you left the price tag on though?! hehe
Are both your cross-straps the same length?
Are both your cross-straps the same length?
first thing I noticed when looking at the pics lol
Looking good Nicoli.
If you want some more in depth advice then happy to offer it but other wise looking good if you sort that cross brace out.

Yes, looking good.
You've made the "very" common mistake of how the cross straps attach to the main pouches though... I've seen virtually everyone do it when starting out with 37 pat, so it's nothing to be upset about at all! To help, the top slot is only used for clipping the L-straps in, and the x-straps go though the lower two slots. See:
I notice you started with the Sten MkV and moved to another rifle. Please don't say my old baby has broken on you!
edit: Thanks Yith that kit diagram is going to make it alot easier
Yup... it does... but it is a shame that even that has some mistakes on it.
For instance on the water bottle and entrenching tool carrier the straps should go through the buckles the other way. This will mean the straps go on behind the entrenching tool rather than in front of it. A rule of thumb is that the open part of the buckle is always nearest the end of the strap. This way around actually holds onto the strap better.
Most importantly this....

Good o!
Note that your loadout (with SMLE rather than sten) will be ideal for Wladek's Cassino game!

I moved the somewhat off topic Polish man with rifle and associated to the Monte Cassino thread - in case anyone thought I had taken a liberty with their posts.
Here are some pictures of my kitchen falshy loadout....
And because I look so bloody miserable in the first shot, heres the antidote....
Suggestions/advice always welcome chaps.

Looks really nice. the only thing I could suggest is replacing the M43 ski cap for one in Lufty blue. Other than that looks spot on.
Looks good. FJ-OK.
