Hi all,

Just after some general advice,

Im after some low (ankle) boots for my German kit,

Does anyone have any places they recommend where i can get these from!?

Sells some near-perfect stand-ins, normally around the £40 mark but that's cheaper than repros and they're normally better made.

Whatever you go for, avoid this type:

crap leather with a synthetic coating on the uppers that won't take dubbin, polish or anything else, and the hobnails are peculiar two-part things which tend to break off

I believe these are the better repro type:

MartinR has some 'nice off-the-peg' repro ones, hopefully he can share where they came from.

I've fired a bullet on every continent. Nearly hit someone, too.

I went for these ones from Militaria Net:

They are rough all over (unlike the pic) and darken nicely with dubbin on. :good:

Mine are also the militaria.net roughout all over ones.

You need to go a size up with these, but Anthony will advise you if you call him.
