Great to have you onboard, Rob. (I totally understand family commitments, etc - I have a daughter with special needs.)

BTW, what kit do you have? :)

Hi,
Thanks for the welcome. I have so far the following kit.
M43 tunic badged up as EM, Fj trousers (used when cold), Pea dot trousers, Pea dot tunic (Awaiting del),
M43 cap, Gaiters, M35 or M42 Helmet (cant tell the differance), Belt and SS buckle, Oak leaf camo helmet cover (awaiting del), Bread bag, Gas mask case, Low boots, Y straps, MP40 Mag Pouch x2, K98 pouches x2, Luger holster, P38 Holster.

Weapons: Tanaka K98 plus ZF ( being serviced at the moment), Top MP40 rebuilt with the Upgraded gearbox, barrel, TM motor etc Cost a lot but worth it. Tanaka Luger (in show case) We luger, P38, AGM MP40, Dboys spring K98 (i like it many don't).

Thats about it for the SS kit line up. Also got FJ kit with many of the above items I share between load outs and a US rangers kit.
I hope this little lot meets the requirments.

Sounds good, couch. I'd probably ditch the FJ Springerhosen myself - I know some people wouldn't notice, but that's not a major issue.

Dot44 tunic is, as you imply, a versatile piece of kit. Worn over the Feldgrau wools in winter, or on its own in the summer - and no insignia necessary, if you don't want to spend more money. Shoulderboards and arm eagle would be the most you'd have anyway. I bought an HBT trousers and tunic for my Heer impressions, so if it's really hot, I can wear the trousers and Dot44 tunic.

Yes I could not spend £60+ on woolly trousers that would not be any good in the summer, And as I have the FJ's it's a means to an end. To be honest the places that I have and will be airsofting would not notice the difference. But don't worry I won't be wearing them to any CIA games etc.

Couchpotato.

Thanks Lardassmonkey I look forward to meeting and fighting with all of you.

Thanks mate can't wait to meet all the 9th soon, looking forward to Saturday. I will not have the K98 back in time so it's the MP40.

Variety is the key to an authentic-looking unit, IMHO.

The dot 44 must work. I had mine on this Saturday and I heard two from the other side shouting, over there with the camo on and the other shouting where, this exchange went on for a few more minites before I then moved to a better shooting point. With the leaves on the ground and the thin trees it does look good and blends in well. Far better than DPM and that american BDU, they stuck out like a boil on the face.

Yeah, I think a few of us already have a dot 44 uniform in addition to the Feldgrau's. I may yet wear mine at Op. Lightning as I can't really use them at Die Glocke or Op. Aerial. To be honest I much prefer it to Feldgrau anyway. Roll on the MP44 for that really late war look! :D

Don't forget you'll have my much more Gucci Dot44 set to wear at Lightning John! :good:

I have to say Pete's blurred edge smock was really effective camo l - can't remember who bought it - I would've done myself, but I'd already got the dot44 tunic.

I like going for the 'made in the field look' given my age (!) i feel its entirely appropriate... the gebirgjager type smock is nice though... i have an oak a one and i use it pretty much all the time when i go to open days and im not wearing my strichtarn...

Blurred edge is my favourite pattern, looks cool and works well. :D If you're after one I once again recommend Pikestaffs- smock & cover for £50. :good:
