Must admit came across CiA via the airsoft forums by accident. Having said that love the things you folks are doing. Would like to get involved as I enjoy airsoft but can't see a legitimate role for a 51 yr old 18 stone ex raf officer. It's a point of discussion with me and some mates of a similar age that we can't fit in to any war re-enactment group where the age of the historic active combatants, and their physical appearance, is between 18 and 35.

Any suggestions?

Welcome to the forum, don't worry about your age, just get stuck in.

I'm 48 and currently 17 stone and that's not stopped me :D

Welcome to the forum. There are absolutely no restictions of any sort to be a player - as long as you are reasonably mobile then you will have a great time. Actually, that's not quite true - with CiA games we have an over-16 policy, so no worries there! (Other organised games may differ)

There are quite a few players knocking on a bit in years, quite a few ex-services and quite a few over 12st (just for the record, I am none of those 8) ) - I'd say you'd fit in OK!

Christ- sign him up quick, he'll lower the average age and weight of the forum so i'll feel less guilty :D

Actually Paul , if you want a cheap look to start off with why not consider reistance/partisan . It'll make age irrelevant, and it's a mega cheap way to get into WWII airsoft without having to invest in much kit ?
Oh and theres a partisan game coming up in May !

PS CRABair or Rockapes ?

Hi, welcome to the forum. It's all about having fun - age, weight and sanity unimportant :)

But a functional liver is a definite advantage....

Many thanks to all for the warm welcome. Crabair - had fun with Nimrods (before they became a death trap) and computers.

Partisan seems a great idea. I have a very dodgy French accent. Trying to get the funds together to pick up a ex ww2 jeep - well that's the plan anyway.

Hi Mac - must admit looking forward to it although will miss the Feb bash cos away in Carib. The US role matches well with my jeep aspirations and there's kit that matches my bulk lol. Are there any pub get togethers outside of the actual skirmishing/re-enactment?

Richard - agree with you about continuing til I drop. Have dodgy right knee put know how to pad it up now so still can be seen diving for cover - my charge speed is a bit restricted tho!

No idea of any pub meets my 1st WW2 game was late last year, I normaly shoot with a team called the Urbanators based in kent at Cage airsoft, but this is MUCH better fun!
