I've been involved in the re enactment scene for Toooo Long!!
Done My time in the American Civil war, And find myself in the WWII bit now. The only areas I kept away from was the bits that involve swords and pikes as they hurt ! and I'm a wimp with a Yellow streak about twice the width of my shoulders
Served My time with ACWS & NASA and seemed to have an aptitued for blowing things up so got stuck in the 8th wissc. on the canons.
In My defence .. I have Never hospitised anyone ..been beaten a few times for being on the button....
Drifted into the WWII bit Cos You get a machine gun and I haven't got the room for a horse (So I got a couple of Great Danes instead)
So I bought My own truck (or two) a tent and a stengun.
I call a spade a spade even if its a shovel
When I ask for a 5/8 spanner I do NOT meen a 15 mm
And if it runs on diesel I know 2 things about it .....
Nothing and Bugger all

friend of mine does pike (and wench depending on whats required) I think she's had more injuries from the metal jacket than the big sticks
Mate of mine used to do Pikeman with Sealed Knot. He told me once that the only way he could work out which side had won was by the position in the pile. If you were at the bottom of it, you'd lost, if at the top, you'd won.
