OK, with the potential for snow, we might as well get the weather forecast thread on the go. Please note that long-range forecasts are as useful as Mytic Meg's predictions. Wait until three days before the event before any semblance of accuracy appears.

It better snow!
I've got a white sheet for my helmet all ready to role.
went past the site yesterday and 3 inches of snow on the ground
only problem is people getting to the game if theres heavy snow the night before, the roads probably WONT get gritted near the site
"Take that you rotton helping of strawberry flan!"
Joseph Porta to "strawberrys and cream", in the sven hassel book ,ogpu prison
You have a serious point there I need to make sure i can borrow my dads car not take my van as it's rear wheel drive and not so good at getting up icy roads that would be a real downer getting all the way up there to spend all morning trying to get my van the last 500 yards to the site.
Will anybody be in a landy or other 4x4 and if so can they bring a tow rope.
Can't remember well enough but isn't the site parking at the top of a hill and about 1.5 miles off the main road?
Ie maybe set up a emergency car park near the main road and shuttle everybody up from there if things get bad or maybe just a route march to the site.
lets just hope we don't get heavy snow sorry snow cam people.
You'll just have to hump your stuff to the site.....
What is the car park like? Bumpy? Tarmac or Dirt? I think the ground clearance on my car might not be quite up to it lol

It's a flat tarmacadam service road - no problem with ground clearance.
Wonderful

Don't feel alone, I will join you in snow based excitement. The person driving me may not, but meh...
Metcheck, who are usually pretty on the money, are forecasting temperatures of minus four overnight with sleet and snow for Sunday morning and snow for Sunday evening.
Even the BBC are forecasting snow for Friday......
Might be an idea to bring enough food and water with you incase things get bad on Sunday too.
Ah, well, it's all changed again. Still cold but no snow now, just rain.
There's sleet in the afternoon... both Saturday and Sunday.
ah sleet, the worst of both worlds...
Nah, that's just a forecaster hedging their bets! "Hmm, looks like it might rain, but it's quite cold, feck it I'll say sleet"
It's the same as those old nutmegs 'sunny spells' and 'blustery showers'.
I'm predicting a couple of inches of snow overnight on Saturday with rain on Sunday afternoon, based on no more than a hunch, which is more than most forecasters can go on 5 days in advance.
I'll bring some seaweed and a cloud chart for the actual day......
I'm predicting a couple of inches of snow overnight on Saturday based on a hunch
If the snow's bad can we hide behind your hunch ?
No, but you can shelter beneath my enormous penis.
I think I'm starting to get he hang of this innuendo malarkey.
errm I mean...one is not amused
