I just noticed that Josh has opened the bookings for this one.

Is anyone from PBI interested in attending it?

It'd be a good chance to bring out the Hallamshire impressions as they were involved in the battle.

I won't be going. The battle for Caen didn't involve American troops, yet Gunman still allows them, which is a real pity as a game based around Operation Goodwood could be brilliant. No more than a money making exercise in my opinion, just like the "road to Caen" game, another "fantasy" game. Plus, frankly, his prices are a total rip off for what you get. A few bangs and vehicles can't cover up the fact that the bloke doesn't know very much about WW2 history (apart from what's in SPR and BOB) and is more concerned with turning a profit than anything else.

Am interested, but cannot as yet say whether I can or not. A few factors have to all coincide to make it do-able.

I'm unlikely to be able to make it for financial reasons.

Personally although i've enjoyed previous games of Joshs i'd also liek to see less 'free for all' scenarios in WWII airsoft as i think our future is in adding a little more historical perspective.

While i think its great some games are run that allow everyone to take part regardless of kit I can only really commit myself to more 're-enactment' type battles this year.

Possibles for this as long as we're still in work, especially if other PBIs are going.

Gunman has a very friendly brit contingent so it might be good to play alongside them.

They even have Captain Mainwaring with them! I've got an idea, if I turn up dressed as Rommel, or Monty, does that mean I can be in charge? I could stand on a stump as well, to make me look taller but I'd remember to suck my belly in and do up my shirt properly in for the photo!

We have been having our 'what games' discussion and this looks both a little expensive and far away for us I think. Plus we would all like to get wools and Enfields for the Halamshires so the costs do rapidly spiral. Given that there sounds to be a CiA 24 hour game down south I think we will be looking towards that.

It may not be down south now, FYI.

Well, if it clashes, or is close to the date of a CiA game, it's a no brainer really. :good:

Re our game

Nowhere near sorted yet ...but we're anticipated early September , for a smallish, very tough , 24 hour game . Mind you won't cost anywhere near £85 8)
