I know we need to get Arnhem and Churchills Revenge done and dusted but i cant se the harm in thinking about feasability.

I played that place to death several years ago and don't fancy a trip back!
I dont see any harm in it and its actually not a bad site.
My main thought is that its good 'central europe' type woodland (suprisingly).
Its accessable
Assuming we dont fuck up Market Garden we'll have the trust and faith of the site that we wont codge it.
We can allow younger players
other than a few of us have gamed it to death and there is a bit of trek up a hill to the game area i see no reason not to at some point this year (or next).

Phoenix get one a year... just like everyone else.
If lightfighters suitable, CW didnt sound too impressed, surely we should be doing games at sites that suit the battles really rather than trying to fit one in cos we like the owners?

Right then...
I've had a quick look at the battle and to me it looks like one ideally suited to F&O in the winter... in the BotB slot... (so we don't run the same battle again) but definately not a summer game... and not really a PW game either!
Its early days yet for both new LFU and new LFW...
Who knows what they'll be like by August.
I suggest we wait and see. I know that they will be much improved.
BTW, I do share CW's concern about LFU for our purposes... however I will not discount new LFW until I've seen it with more undergrowth. I'm pretty sure that it will beat PW hands down.

Don't forget Close Action woods have been offered, FFZ is up for it, Strines is available - feel as though we have 'done' F&O.

Tend to agree with most of the above. The LFW site is awkward in that it is split into a figure of eight, that said it's still pretty big, and nothing to stop you using one half for mornig and one for afternoon ( novel thought Boomer take note 
)
Also agree we ought to spread outselves around if possible, stops us being seen as linked ot one site or another with all the poss politics that brings.
We've got games coming out of our ears till June, lets get CR out of the way and then concern ourselves with more.

Yup LFW is more like two play areas that sort of join at one point.
The whole FFZ idea is kinda getting me excited. It really is a fantastic woodland site. The thing that always used to put me off it was the type of players and the way it was run. (Capture the flag! ARGH!!!)
I guess we don't have to worry too much about either of those though!
CW, you say you've had contact with them already? If so was it Frank or John you talked to?
Back to the first post to pick up on something Gadge mentioned... I know we have one player that has a 12 year old kiddy wanting to get involved. However I'm not sure whether getting young'uns involved too much is a good idea. I certainly don't think it should sway our choice of site!
Yes, 12 is maybe taking inclusion too far . I enjoyed the LFW2 site , despite it's shape, the terrain is very interesting and even half of it is twice the size of F&O !

LFW would be better when re-grown no doubt (pity about having car park bang in the middle) - my grumble was more about the shoddy games rather than the site so much. (And wouldn't apply anyway since we would manage!)
I've been to Grange Farm. Good SZ facilities as it is a clay shooting site which is also it's downside - very linear site with open land on one side of the strip, scrub down the middle and huge earth/grass banked enclosures on the left - think Bocage x3 height! Chaps that run it are crazy and fun though! Gucci gave them a hand when they set up last year as they are chums.
Agree 12 is pushing it a bit - it's not the age that bothers me just that they may not find it their sort of fun. Neil might realise that when he comes to Arnhem.
Hmmm yeah CW... I sort of agree with you regards the games at LF recently.
They've definately not been up to the old standards that Boomer and Eznugud managed. I'm not sure why...
Ah cool... about FFZ... I get on reasonably well with John and I think he remembers who I am even though I've not been there for ages.
