Some more pics of Sandpit. This site really is something special and all of us as AGS are very excited about what if offers for the Sevastopol game. Our site walkthrough alone took about 2 1/2 hours. To give an idea of scale, the first picture is taken on the far side of the lake and you can just about see the warehouse buildings in the distance. Our full game plan only uses about a third of the available area.

Another panoramic thingy to make you feel seasick:

We will only be using about 1/3 of the site for our scenario so vehicles will not be essential. although should anyone wish to bring one they will be very welcome to and it will certainly be possible to make very good use of them in the game.

Anyone bringing a period vehicle for in-game use will of course get free admission.

And you need not worry, we wont be running you ragged by marching you around the entire site. unless you really want to

“I wanted to come to the Volga at a specific location at a specific city. By chance it carries the name of Stalin himself. So don’t think I marched there for this reason – it could carry another name – but because there is a very important goal... this goal I wanted to take – and you know – we are very modest, we have it already."

We can and must clear the Soviet land of Hitlerite vermin."

My Maxim should be up and running by then and will be available to use. As part of a blocking unit if necessary

actually a pak38 was next on the list, was going to rig it to fire thermobarics. havent decided on a suitable axle to build it onto but towing it to an event will be no problem. watch this space...

pak 38 would be very cool. I have an old propane bird scarer, basically a metal tube, an igniter and a timer valve release that one day I'll get round to converting. It will only fire for effect and I dont intend firing anything out of it, (legal and H&S would be all over me) but it will go bang!

How would you feel about letting the Bolshevik forces use your Maxim? It's actually going to be quite hard to put it to good use within the German forces as we will be assaulting over some pretty rough terrain and it is much more of a static defense weapon than an assault weapon. We can lend you a very nice MG42 to use instead! :good:
