Email sent, but am awaiting a reply. I'll chase, but it's not been a week yet.

By the look of their Facebook page the site isn't up and running yet.

Cheers for checking Stephen , the web stuff looks like they nearly got it last year :slap:

Ok look ....we're a bit fucked here . We have a slot in October , we were hoping for a Stalingrad and we have no site.

I don't want to cancel the October game , esp now CW's resigned, it will signal all the wrong things if it looks like it's all fallen apart once he left . Plus people are expecting some sorta Stalingrad thing ,

So , my thoughts

1 Kermit , can you sort out with Tim about this old mill ASAP ? Is it open , can we use it ?

2 All - what about the Xsites new urban place ? Any thoughts

3 IED - we have used their sites for 3/4 of the past games, they are all played out and so we can't rely on em like we used too .

4 Open to any suggestions but reckon we need to either decide to go woodland or find and urban site by end May latest, and thats means us all looking !

I don't know many urban sites. How about Urban Assault? Or Gunman's RAF Honiley?

The problem with Urban Assault (I've played there several times) is that no bangs are allowed, latterly no smokes and no shouting  . There is a hell of a problem with the neighbours complaining to the council and subsequent consequences. And there is also a military hospital next door. The site is OK, maybe even Stalingrad-esque but the barrack buildings are pure CQB (endless corridors and small rooms). The bit with the canteen, cinema, messes is OK, completely trashed though. It's more than big enough to give 40 people a game though, with imaginative use of the available area. John is on this forum "usual suspect" but Frank isn't. I did speak to John years ago about running games at his sites. He was sort of interested but I think the lure of running their own games/with AI mag is more attractive.

Anyhoo, just FYI...

hmmm ....yes i recall our earlier conversation .Stalingrad without big bangs would be a bit wank .

Running at Gunman ...trouble is I doubt he'd want to let us just have it alone ...it would have ot be a joint effort I suspect.

X Site ......?

Longmoor is run under Ambush Airsoft by Charlie James. I've known the dodgy bastard for years, so thats a good thing. I've got some pics of the place on my hard drive from a game i went to a few years ago there, i'll dig em out and sling them up so you guys can tell me what you think of the place.

When we were a Kingdom it was run by a King
When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........

Ah cool. That solves a problem!

I suggest that, if he's a dodgy bastard, we agree a fixed fee and set the price at something suitable.

How about having a look at this place? http://www.close-action.co.uk/pages/Grafton%20Park.html

From 3rd April 2011 we are moving from Fineshade to two new and fantastically exciting new venues. We will rotate between them throughout the year, so look at ourgame dates page for more info.

Site 1. Grafton Park . An historic WWII air base with a wealth of ruins and bunkers amidst 120 acreas of mature woodland. We will definitely be at Grafton from April 3rd into June.

Woodland with some urban. Would suit the "last German position" type area, if we don't get a "proper" urban site?

If not for Stalingrad, it may have potential for a future game.

ive been in contact with Charlie and am awaiting prices. I know how much reenactment groups pay, so i have some leverage for bargaining.

Why not drop em a PM Pete, Seg has known of us for years. Fineshade was always a problem with any bangs etc, be interesting to see if we could get Grafton park for late this year ?
