there was a bolt in the side which was preventing the winding bit to rotate, all sorted now, feeding off an M249 mag autowinder... using the sound of the motor to wind

he he - the only time I used my 50 cal I managed to find other people to lug it down to the beach 8)
It's sweet when it's properly set up though , I enjoyed shooting at Pete with his own ammunition at Eagles  ....as yes the tripod is a complete arse to carry .

Brens a good compromise , check out Webbys 30 cal as well .

Regardless of whether it works well, it's worth the money. It looks and feels incredible.

I'm with HS on this, I got to handle a BAR when I took my SLR back to Fire-Support on Saturday, and if I wasn't between jobs :( I'd have bought it there and then, lovely piece of kit 8)

Well when I first took it out the box the whole 100 people at Proteus camp all gasped and crowded around. I was a little dissapointed that it took Dave Manning a lot of time to get right, the inner barrel was RUBBISH, 6.08 prolly, hardly any pressure on the BBs, so they just fell out the end. Once I put a 6.01 barrel in it and a systemma hop unit, it fires like a dream, feels heavy and looks the Bee's Knees!

Only problem is the "hi caps" are 190 rounds! hehe

@Guy, I prefer the BAR for useabily, and the .30cal for looking cool, nothing quite puts the fear of god into opponents that a 200 round belt of inert .30 cal rounds and a big dark grey gun on a tripod :D

He has the drop rope with him so he can loop it over a branch of the adjacent tree to help him up afterwards.

Would love to see that gun working properly Matt.

You will do at Haggard/Husky depending on which 1 you goto :)

Warren is just finishing off my bipod now for it! Was going to get an oringal 1 but it would prolly break the front of the barrel due to the weight!

You gotta go to husky mate, bring the .30 Cal as well, I don't mind luggin it for ya. I won't have a radio to lug around and I'll miss all that weight haha

It does look the dogs wotsits...Im toying with the idea of saving up for a .30 cal I think 510 quid is a resonable for a custom weapon

I'd go for the BAR over the .30 cal. Much more practical as it can also be shouldered.

Of course, this is academic as I can't afford either!

Cool...if I had the cash I'd buy the BAR...but i like the idea of a .30 cal. Its quite menacing when you are faced with someone wielding a .30cal lol

Edit for spelling and bloody txt spk ...please keep it off here. we're all adults I hope . OU .

Yeah, but it's a pain in the ass when people get wider angles on you.

Fine if you're part of a fireteam but not when you're on your own in a foxhole.
