As it says on the can: How accurate are the SOF M42 jumpsuit sizes as I know some manufacturers can "drift" a little.
For referance I am no longer a snake hipped young thing that I once was and have bloomed to a fairly accurate 44" chest and 36" waist.

Apart from being unhappy with some of the stuff I've not handle before purchase, their sizes are generally accurate.
Be sure to check your waist size using the military waistline, not the modern day one.
I'm a 36 too, but my military waistline (at navel altitude 
) is 2" bigger.
And if it's slightly to big, that's no problem, use belt or suspenders and you'll be alright.

might be better getting it from hong kong keith as its cheaper and just as good quality IMO. infact my jumpsuit lasted at churchills better than others who has SOF ones
also with the jump suit its less military wasited than other items. sits almost at the normal trouser line for me.
Not sure where SOF source their jumpsuits but BEWARE if they are from Hong kong as my jumpsuit is marked as a 42R-im a 38/40 chest and its tight on me.Trs were labeled as a 34R but fit me ok with a 32waist.
EVERY single item of clothing ive ordered from different HK sellers has always been the WRONG size despite me in all cases providing actual measurements as requested.
I have an £80 Splinter Parka lying unworn as its too big and would cost as much to return as £80 as it weighs a ton 
Excellent stuff always from them but terrible at sizing 
I ordered my jumpsuit from Keith at KCS. size was fine not had much of a problem with it other than 1 popper breaking
All the stitch counting reenacters hate the HK jump suits and say only WW2 Imps(or is it ATF?)ones will do but i kind of like my HK suit now despite the size.
Might not be exact the right shade,pockets might not be spot on but for around £60 i realy dont give a crap
Memory1945 on eBay will do any suit made to measure for an extra fiver...
The good news is that my M42 and P42 suits fit perfectly and as someone who is 6'5", it's a bl**dy first.
The bad news is that it took seven weeks for them to arrive as they got a big order in for HBT suits. They then sent my suits to the USA and I'm now stuck with a mint M42 in L size and an HBT in XL because the shipping back to HK is too expensive to be worth it.
So if your of more generous build than I am and approx 6", make me an offer
