Fantastic - can't wait to see it, Pete.
You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier
The gearbox is now fitted and I'm awaiting the arrival of a barrel and hop parts, so not making bad progress and it will definitely be up and running by Husky.
As soon as I get another digicam, I'll get some photos posted.
Yeah come on Pete get your finger out.....

I'm well up for another training day.
"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
i'm up for a training session with the MG - be good to see you again John
John - Bryansk was a fantastic game for me, loved everything apart from Kav's snoring and the illegal rave that meant no-one got a good nights sleep.
There was 'talk' of some players going on an armed recce - but this was quickly officialy shunned lol
Tanaka's were the weapon to have (on the German side) due to their form and terrain.
I hope that the single shot games are used again - put's a whole new twist on things, I don't think anyone that played it had a bad word to be said
i like the single shot idea, and id love to have a chance using my dboys k98, but so as to not exclude players that dont own aegs, maybe allow thompson/mp 40 players as well, but with a 150 round ammo limit ??? like real life, they would have to do VERY short bursts and use semi auto more often than not.
obvouisly, a mg could fire tll the cows come home.
this system may only attract a hardcore of players though??????
"Take that you rotton helping of strawberry flan!"
Joseph Porta to "strawberrys and cream", in the sven hassel book ,ogpu prison
Tony, the allied players were using Thompsons on semi-auto or had M14/M1's on single shot, hell some of the guys from IED had AK's on single.
I'm not saying have a full days single-shot gaming, but it was a great style change of playing
It's a great opportunity to get some use out of pistols too.
Heide got some cracking kills - only armed with a WE Luger !!!
Got an electric C-Mag today, to use as parts for the MG feed system. The only thing holding the projects up now is the drum mags. I'm not holding my breathe for Heiko to send them anytime soon and am trying to source some more locally.
The bits I HAVE got are:-
AK47 gearbox(upgraded to 350fps).
Metal AK hop chamber with systema rubber and bucking.(Needs modifying to a 45 degree(ish) feed angle).
PSG1 extra long barrel.
Electric winding C-Mag.
Real steel cocking handle.
Also modified the MG42 stock to "quick release" for battery changing.
I'm that bored wating for the drum mags that I've started an MP001 Lee Enfield No.4 conversion, built a metal and wood upgraded AK47, upgraded my MP001 K98 AND tarted up the PPSH41 as well!

Well, now I have a new digicam, I can post some "work in progress pictures. No ammo drums yet, but most of the rest of the work is done, it just needs putting together. I'll add more photos as it comes together.

Thanks John. Spent a good part of today making frames for the grips, as the standard size is too thin to accomodate the motor. The glue is drying on them as I type and I hope to get them sanded and fit them tomorrow. Also got the barrel fitted in the shroud. A bit of tweaking should see it secured in place. I dropped a few rounds into the hop and fired them off, so I know it all works. It's getting there, slowly but surely.

Fitted the new grips to the frame yesterday. Still some sanding to do but at least the motor fits now! Next, an extended trigger and try to fit the cocking handle somehow.
Edit - Fitted a trigger (used an old Famas one I had laying about, with a few modifications) and scratch built a movable front sight out of an MP001 trigger sear and some aluminium flat. The cocking handle won't fit the receiver without a lot of modification, as the replicas' receiver is made from simple box section and lacks the stamped channel of the real steel '42. So, I can get the cocking handle on but it won't move, other than to open out and fold down, which is a bit of a let down. Have sourced a drum mag, so, when it arrives, I should be able to get the '42 running fairly soon.

Did a bit more work today, got the other gearbox fitted and made the trigger for the second '42 as well. Have made pretty good progress the last couple of weeks, I've completed 1 drum mag and am just awaiting parts for the other. Apart from the second drum mag, all I really need to do is make the new grips for Dels' gun. When that's done, I'll take both guns for a shakedown and see what they fire like.

Outstanding

Should be lots of fun at Husky! I hope the rate of fire is ok. If not, I'll try a 9.6v battery.

Try an 11.1v Li-po Pete. Packed the '34's v3 with one on it's test fire, it's a screamer

I'm concerned about gearbox wear with such a high voltage battery, so I'll try 8.4v first but won't go any higher than 9.6v. (Of course, if JD7 wants to go higher! ). Still, I'm keen to see the rof you get from the '34.

FInished making the drums now as well. Could do with a lick of paint to make them look a bit more "professional but that's just me. Noone will see the internals anyway. Both feed well and have a good capacity. I actually had to reduce the capacity, as the feed mechanisms didn't cope too well with 2,500 rounds sitting on top of them!

Nice work Peter - this custom stuff is coming on a treat !
Del's been telling me about all this , good to see some pics at last .
Kermits advising an MG 42 mount for the Stower....
Thanks Guy. It's been hard work but worth it. The only real problem with the 42's is the weight! They are close to the real thing with a battery and a full drum!
I'll post up some more photos, as soon as I have them completed (which won't be long). All I'll have to do then is give them a good shakedown.
