Just started receiving loads of emails saying that accounts have been deactivated or newly created. What's all that about then?

Welcome to admin status - it's the method we argued about for allowing new accounts.

Email comes to admins ot approve or deny access ot the forum
You can do the same function form the admin panel on here
My advice - ignore them as I do , CW normally checks through them early in the morning , obvs if he's away then different matter.
