An illustration of exactly the sort of thing I wanted to avoid...
PD:
Can you see the difference in mind set now bertween re-enactors adn Airsofters?
Josh rightly and "ballsilly says - he's here for fun to shoot bbs..... Cool.. can live with that.... mainly cos I'm long in the tooth. But Chappell - another youngster says pay some respect adn remember what's behind it.
When you get into WWII territory this is what comes with it,
We (re-enactors/Living Historians) are in it for the actual facts, the nearness and the history. Softers are in it just for that - Softing. Problem is - the "old school" will let that grate ont hem.... This is where the common ground become thin ice (to mix metaphors)
I just thought that thread was a neat illustration, in fact an encapsulation of our two genres.......
BTW - you guys lock thingz quick!!!! - No dispute and conflict allowed eh? Laughing We love a good old ruck we do!!!!!
Regards
a not quite gone yet PD!
Me:
I locked the thread to avoid circular and pointless argument - the decision has been made.
I'm happy to have an intellectual discussion about the topic but that wasn't the place.
The following Sunday is the correct date for public displays of remembrance but that doesn't exclude players from doing whatever they like at the game, as Josh said.
And absolutely nothing to do with being airsofters or reenactors - this is a personal issue, people are free to remember (or not) in a fashion that suits them, not be dictated to or put under pressure - for how insincere would that be?regards
David

Fair enough Dave... I can understand why you locked it... However I wanted to get my say... somewhere... ![]()
One point though... those people who want to partake in a minutes silence now don't have a place to organise it...
Anyway... as was mentioned in my first post... this wasn't the reason why I posted...
bumbags... and there was me warming to him....

"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
that was a PM by pd i take it dave, i couldnt see a relevant thread?
Shame i've asked him to advise me on varisty (as he clealry is the man in the know), offered an olive branch, apologised if i've upset him but obviously he's not interested in helping just in stirring up...

"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
Hmmm... I try to avoid doing church...
And since when have you ever agreed with anything Eznugud has said?
Yes -rare that I find words of wisdom from old misery , however that one stuck in my mind as I thought it apt, esp as he's ex regs as well .
PD - I struggle ot keep him on board/ struggle ot find a good reason for keeping him on board.
Yes, it was PM's Gadge.
