Can I solicit opinions on this please?
As you know, Stubblehopper provided some 'starter' info on SS impressions which I re-formatted and added to our web site 'Kit guides'
He has been asking about pushing to form an SS group as PBI and Doughboys - I and (probably Guy) said fine, think of a name and you can have a forum sub-section. Chris said he would put a package together and email it to me. What I got was a bunch of links to http://www.ww2airsoft.co.uk
Edit: just thought to check and it seems Stubble registered ww2airsoft.co.uk back in 0ct 2006 (I registered ww2airsoft.org.uk in September 2006)
I'm not quite sure of his motives - is it innocent or devious?
Anyhow, I'll set him up a forum section and see how far he gets with that - if there is any suggestion of a splitting or poaching then we will have to re-appraise.
Hi David,
Here's the link to the intro page mentioned last week, can we get these up on a sticky on a dedicated "Kampfgruppe SS" page, which I would like to be our answer to PBI and DB's?

I'd suggest benefit of the doubt at this stage . Set him up a forum , let it fly see where it goes . We've got into bed with far worse nobbers , I suspect Chris's motives are fine . If he sets up another WWII forum I might be upset but we can face that when it comes . He did get that webname before we were going TBH.
No, he registered it afterwards - we started the forum at the beginning of September and the web site not long after. Stubble registered on the forum 11/11/2006.

I said "before we were going" as in when he registered we probably had about 10 users and were "unknown" as such . If he had done it last month I'd have been more concerned .

It is a cheeky move nonetheless... but its an old one...
I don't think it should tarnish our relationship with him... but I'd love to know the reasoning behind it.
Heh, it wasn't coincidence he registered the name! Believe it or not we launched to BotB booking thread on the 13th September and the word spread fast ![]()

Hardly as though "ww2airsoft.whatever" isn't used by others.
ww2airsoft.org.uk
ww2airsoft.co.uk
ww2airsoft.ltd.uk (company)
ww2airsoft.com
ww2airsoft.ru
The only one that pisses me off - and its because its a company, and a company that dont exactly sell much in the way of WW2 gear - is ww2airsoft.ltd.uk

When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........
As long as the kit guides don't have links to his site I've no problem. I do question the sense of him setting up a forum on here that then points to a different place though.
I've no problem with it, just that if I were a punter to have everything in one place would be easier.
S

My personal take on this is that Chris is a very keen honest bloke and i wouldn't worry
I get the feeling he really misses the sense of group belonging and cameraderie you get in the forces and his extremely focussed approach to the ss group is a substitute.
I did exaclty the same thing when i set up my first airsoft team TBH
As for registering the site I guess its maybe just a security in case he ever felt the need to go his own way and didnt want to have to redo all the stuff he'd done here.
Just a wild guess.
Personally i think hes only got the interests of wwii airsoft at heart, no sinister motives

"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
Yes, I know you are right - I'm just somewhat iritated that's all. Just wanted to open it up for discussion, that's all.
Anyhoo, he's got what he wanted - I'll help him where I can, just as with the other groups.

I'd just love someone to approach him in a friendly non-antagonistic way and ask him why?
I don't have any problems with it, I just wish I knew the reasoning...
