Is it at F&O Mate? If so I'll pop up and have a blat and bring up my toys even though I'm not "In the Club" with you lot.

(Just poped over to the Doughboys bit of the forum, It's at phoenix near mansfield)

At the training day I think we should have a range session, where people who attend can use all the US forces weapons, if their owners allow. I'll probably bring mine along so folk can familiarise themselves with the different types.

I've got a thompson, high standard HDM, shotgun(winchester trench gun - but a spring version), and if it doesnt sell by then a springfield 1903 made from a chinese sniper I'd be happy for people to try out on a bend it mend it basis. we can set up a little shooting range and let people have a fire with the variety of guns. Might encourage a little more variety amongst the US side too :) though judging by this thread thats happening on its own

i'll put up an addition on the thread in the DB section now

Hi guys,
Regarding the two fill-valves on the m2 magazine, I have stripped my mag down and the rearmost valve does not appear to serve any purpose. The mag has only one gas chamber and both fill valves feed into it. You can fill the mag through either valve and the function and m.v. are the same . I have no idea why it is there.
Regarding the non functioning on semi-auto, this happens on a lot of these M2s. It is down to poor finish and fit of parts from the factory. Mine was repaired under warranty and I was told the problem is in the area of the fire selector mechanism. Mine has worked flawlessly since it was fixed and the fire select lever now has a positive detent when moved from full to semi and back again.

From what I remember from the old 6mm M1 the two valves were part of some gas cylinder feed system (yes its that old). Not sure why they've kept it going for the newer versions but feasibly it could be for the same reason.

No longer involved in airsoft.

Barrie&annie, I'v just read a review of an M2 on http://www.ww2airsoft.com , and it describes exactly the problem josh told me about before you bought it, It was solved by taking off the woodwork and tightening up all the screws, apparently after that you have semi and full auto. Not the shims or reciever after all.

Hope that helps.

will be interesting to see if they fix the semi problems they seem to be having on the current m1/m2 they have released. also interesting to see how the round capactiy gets affected by fitting the larger 2 valve gas system they have on the current bananna mags into a smaller m1 mag.
