Yes, it's defiantly possible. I made a HK21 type beltboxmag for a G3 conversion using the top half of a relevant mag and a high-cap winder.
The only question is,why would you want to do it? There was never a real-life drummag for the MP38/MP40...

With my sarcastic head on, I'd say why not also fit a laser scope, a grenade launcher and a tac light? Because they're about as relevant to the MP40 as a drum mag. If you're bothered about being outgunned on a regular open day at a site, buy a few more mags. I have skirmished at open days with 6 lo-caps and never felt outgunned.

Could be COD WAW's fault as I think you could get a higher cap mag on there on multi-player

If I'm barking up the wrong tree C_asciak I apologise

Still dosnt alter the fact that it didn't happen in "real" ww2

I also skirmish on open days with low/mid caps and if I'm running low a tactical withdrawal ie run away allows me to reload

Oh come, come. Real or not does it matter? This sort of thing is certainly not for WW2 games advertised on this forum, for sure, but would no doubt garner some attention at open days where new/unusual/gucci kit is what its all about!

Ah, it explains why your MP40 shoots so bad - your hop is probably crapped up with fish paste.

If you did want to go ahead with it, the simplest way would probably be to convert an MP5 drum mag, as it has the right sized stem. Only diffrence is, that the feed tube from an MP5 mag is located towards the front end, where as the feed tube on MP40 mags is located towards the rear:

Fish paste sandwiches?!! Is that period food?

I think this is a good as it got with the MP40 in terms of matching the PPSH for volume of fire, or so the story went.

By the way COD WAW got this one right... I think.

I've seen a photo of a prototype Thompson "LSW" - a Thompson with long barrel and a bipod.
Now THAT would get attention...

Ah, If he wants to make a drum mag for his MP40, It's his aeg/time/money. As long as It doesn't show up at WW2 skirms.

I've seen worse 'tacticool' WW2's at open skirms.

Hmm.

I'm now tempted to cover my spare MP40 in all the RIS rails I've pulled off other guns over the years, and add the twin drum mag i've got lying around to it, purely because i now know how much it would annoy people...

Thinking you to be a twit is not the same as being annoyed.
