a few pics of the turned down barrel and front sight. also rubbed down the stock ready for refinishing.
Nice.
How did you make that barrel? Is it a thick-wall tube, or did you bore it in bar stock?
cheers.
its actually the original svd barrel turned down at the front to fit nicely through the front hole in the stock.
jay.
It's beautiful. I hope you can sell kits some day. I wouldn't mind some casts of the receiver...
many thanks.
got a bit more done, the safety lever is on but is just for show as it does not function. the dust cover is now fitted and a proper g43 mag is done with 50rnd locap inside.the trigger is now done but had a bit of trouble with it. due to it having to be longer and further back the length of pull was rediculous, but with a bit of fiddling with the trigger internals it is now very crisp and responsive. i have the trigger guard now which i need to bolt to the receiver, and need to do the mag release which should be fun with the amount of room in there, but it is very near completion.
cheers
jay.
Looks amazingly good, Jay.
You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier
Well done indeed, i can tell when i finish it, if i ever do my current project wont be anything near that quality.
Although to be expected to due my age/ lack of DIY skills...
WW2 Weapons AGM Sten, AGM MP40
thanks again.
project is now finished apart from the front barrel band which is on its way.
it shoots very well with an average of 482 fps and quite straight, but will get a tightbore and better hop rubber.
it is also quite easy to cock and can rattle off shots quickly. need to make up a couple more mags aswell.
going to do another mg34 soon but will start a revolver project next
cheers
jay
very nice!
