Might I suggest "flash mag" internals - they're wound by a pull-cord, and feed at least 360 rounds on a single wind.

Sounds great but needs to be approx the same size as a dragunov magazine so it can fit inside the drum mag.

this really is extraudinary work with such basic tools ,i shudder to think how long it takes you to get such results.cant wait to see it finished.

armoury
m1a1 Thompson,sten mk2,mp40,stg44,sterling,mk2 bren gun,lee Enfield no4 mk1,Mauser Kar98, Walther ppk,smith and Weston m10 and Mauser m712
Give me a big enough hammer and a place to stand and I could fix the world.
i'll kill a man in a fair fight or if i think he's going to start a fair fight or over a woman or.......

Thanks, I am pleased with the results as I didn't know how it was going to turn out. Some parts I have had to do over and ideas amended. For example I have been racking my brains on where to fit a cut off switch to act as a safety catch, after various ideas I have finally decided to fit a toggle switch on the lid of the drum mag with a lipo battery indicator aswell. The wires will be fitted with mini tamiya connectors which will run inside the drum mag and into the gun where they will be hidden.-- attachment is not available --

ive got the buzzer type lipo warning sensors that i use on my bren ,they dont have to be seen and i recon youve done well enough that an led display would be a shame to see on sutch a lovelly gun.its allways worth fitting a safety switch if you can and if the battery is in the brum mag then thats a logical place.

Yep I totally understand what your saying, I have got the buzzer type which I use in my MP40, MP41 and MP44 where a visual type is not practical. With the visual type you can see how much power you have left and can change batteries earlier if you wish. As its on the back of the drum mag the only person seeing it is the firer so it shouldn't be that bad.

I agree. The warning buzzer will be more than enough and an LED display on a WW2 gun would be very distracting IMHO. It would be a little too tacticool. But, whatever floats your boat, it's still a great build.

LED display will be housed in the drum mag showing in a small window of dark perspex/plastic which will dim down the LED. As for distractions, the enemy being mowed down will be more than enough to keep my mind occupied
