Will possibly be interested in two for our new recruits but can't confirm quite yet.
Would be very interested indeed ![]()
Worldwide arms are doing No4 woodwork for £49 plus postage. Also get yourself to a militaria fair as there is often a stall selling Enfield bits -example was last Pudsey show where a chap was selling Enfield butts for a tenner....
Unfortunately decided not to go down this route now. My interest in airsoft has been waning lately, living in the devils bottom that is Cornwall the fuel costs are just too great to get to any WW2 events and being unemployed doesn`t help. I tried my first open day for quite some time a couple of weeks ago to try and generate some enthusiasm in myself, whilst entertaining it didn`t have the appeal it used to..sorry ladies and gents ![]()
That's open days for you, mate. Stick around and bear in mind we have a game happening down at Bournemouth, and a few of us will be at the GZ weekender, too. ![]()

Hi catof,
The wood was just ordinary softwood which you buy in a DIY store, think it was about 25x25mm. I started with the mag as this is the easiest part to make. Print out a couple of good photos of a No.4 and stick them on your shed wall then most of the fabrication can be done by eye.The top woodwork I cut to length so it covered right to the end of the outer barrel, groove ou the inside first so it fits snuggly over the barrel then round off the top edges to make it more semi circular. The bottom woodwork needs to be cut to length, hollowed out then shaped to match with the upper. I used a dremel to cut shallow grooves where the barrel bands sit. The bands are actually sections of a bicycle inner tube. The barrel extension is made from 13mm pipe, this fits snuggly inside the original outer barrel, the sight was copper sheet soldered to the barrel extension. Hope this helps ![]()
Recently bought a router so I thought I`d practise with it on a project in the same vein as the No.4. SMLE was simplest I could come up with, its not ideal as some of the lines are wrong especially the bit on the stock, but as a simple cheap conversion it looks a bit more period than the DE M50.

Dieselmonkey did a conversion on one of those. Apparently, it was a nightmare!
