only a small mod, but i think it works quite well. It's basically a hard spring steel lock washer, bent flat, and with the ends silver soldered together to make the loop, attached to a split-pin which i've inserted into a hole drilled through the external ABS and internal grip frame. (the surround is just a small washer to protect the ABS body)

As it's drilled through the metal interal frame, it should quite happily be load-bearing if need be. It's also free to spin around 360 degrees, as i've chopped the ends of the split pin off quite short, so it rotates within the handle.

close up of the loop:

Next job is to get some military-style grips for it, but they can wait until i've done my Thompson 1928 semi-conversion.

looking good there ... much the same as what I did with mine. I like the addition of the washer though and the ring you've made is good...

It needs to be blackened a bit really though... :)

i've actually got some gun blueing chemicals somewhere, but they're packed away at the moment. when my mosin barrel's finished, i'll probably blue that and the loop at the same time.

are all the bits steel then?

If they are then I should probably do the same. I have the chemicals available as well..

I need to get a better ring for mine... All I have right now is a keyring.

Is there any chance you build one of these up for me and pass it to gadge?

Don't cut the ends off the split pin though as my M10 is different from yours...

It's just a steel split pin (3mm if i remember), the ring and a small steel washer at the base. I'm going to make one up for gadge, so i'll try and find enough bits to make two, no problem.
