A friend (DaveC_24 on here) and I have decided to make a few airsoft kits so I hope it's alright to share a bit of our handiwork here...
Basically looking to make a few bits and pieces that aren't commercially available with a focus on classic arms. We want to try and get that balance right between realism and usability in airsoft guns, factoring in a healthy bit of affordability into the mix! We both like slightly different things, I like British, he Likes American and we both like German and some more... unusual firearms.
I've set up a blog to show what I'm making and how it's made... among other things if folks are interested! At the moment I've got the first project up there, the part-time MkV Sten kit.

We will be sticking some more stuff up there soon, including some guns that we don't think have been made for airsoft to our knowledge... And we're keen to find some field-testers to give some feedback and a review in return for a bit of discount on stuff we make.

Give me a big enough hammer and a place to stand and I could fix the world.
i'll kill a man in a fair fight or if i think he's going to start a fair fight or over a woman or.......
a problem shared is a problem halved ,but an advantage shared is no advantage at all
if a job's not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well

Well done, look forward to see what you come up with.
Good luck fellas, always more room for talented gunsmiths in the community!
I remember you guys from San Marino. Good luck with your projects.

Nice, I like the way it`s available as a kit and that it`s easily revertible back to a mk2. Good luck with your endeavours.
Thanks fellas! Do let us know if you want anything putting together, the weirder the better! We're looking at some unusual setups already, so ideas are most welcome.

MG08/15 for second-line and Polizei units?
I have actually got a concept for a functioning Piat, I just need a customer to ask for one!
And an MG08 or 15 would be fun, if you want one I can look into it?

Yes please! Looking for the WWII version (?) of the MG08/15, which was basically the MG available to the Polizei and Sicherungs division behind the front. Perfect to go along with MP28's and captured weapons.
Actually, a generic Vickers / Maxim / MG08 design (block receiver, water-cooled barrel) would be great for emplaced positions, one does not see them very often (if at all). That barrel shroud can hide many things - batteries, spare ammo, a camelbak with "refreshments"...
I'll drop you a PM old chap...

How about turning out some upper and lower handguards in wood, to turn something like a VSR11 into a WW2`ish looking bolt action Mauser. The 11 is cheap, has iron sights, so all it would take is an hour or so with a router, a couple of barrel bands, and you could mass produce them as a kit.
I knocked one up a while ago but my workmanship was a bit tatty and certainly not good enough for resale, but good enough for the 10 metre rule. I did add a fake wood magazine which made it look a bit like a Moisin Nagant. So a kit could allow a player to go German or Russian.

I had the very same idea for quickly turning a VSR platform into a looky-likey Enfield. Would love to see it attempted by someone with the space, tools and skill. I think it's safe to say we, as WW2 airsofters, would happily pick up a simple bolt-on kit to turn probably the most ubiquitous and upgradeable bolt-action out there into a very passable Mauser, or Enfield or Mosin - and for a fraction of the price of one of the many full replicas out there. Million times more reliable, too!

If someone has a VSR11 I can borrow for a bit I'd be more than happy to look into a basic wood stock design or two to spice them up.
I shall drop you a PM reds the PIAT Kendo!

I doubt you`d need a whole stock, just the handguards as an affordable kit.
Here`s generic ww2 bolt action from a VSR11....

And my No.4 from a VSR10....

As you can see they are rough and ready, but both use the original stock.
That second one is exactly what I had in mind, slick. I need one of those!

They both look really good, not perfect replicas but do the job and like you say - barely noticeable from 10 metres away.
Sten mk.V kit looks excellent, and a mosin VSR kit would be just the excuse i'd need to start a Red army kit
.
Best of luck with it chap.
I've fired a bullet on every continent. Nearly hit someone, too.
