Advise needed guys on what to bring for the stop over.

check list so far.

1. me
2. 4 litres of water in plastic bottles
3. M14 and K980, ammo, mags etc
4. camp bed
5. Sleeping bag
6. sandwichs for 2 days (easier)
7. 2 tins of "something" stew or such like
8. 2 tins of soup
9.full kit, this includes mess tin, period fork, spoon etc
10. containers with coffee, tea and sugar, powdered milk
11.toothbrush and paste
12. no smellies as you dont use them in the field - as paul mcCartney said "we all stink together bum bum"
13. spare clothes and a change.
14. Tent

Trying to keep it to just the basics, any advise, something ive missed or something i should forget?
oh and a question, cooking equipment, we obviously want period or just an open fire, whats the plan?
And do we change into kit on site or do people turn up in kit, thinking specifically about German kit?

Two items for top of your list:
Toilet paper - never rely on being provided for...
Shooting specs (might go without saying, but if you are making a list...) + an emergency cheap pair can be handy for you or someone else

Wet wipes (large) can be useful as can a small pump bottle of hand sanitiser. Sounds a bit :ghey: but I'd rather be :ghey: than risk a stomach upset for the rest of the week.

I'll be turning up in kit for this and not changing, so German togs (but jacket/cap not worn until on site - some take delight in swanning around in it outside the game but braces and baggy woollen trousers is odd enough for me publicly)

good suggestions, added to the list. trousers and braces it is. makes more sense than drawing unwanted attention. cheers Mr CW.

Second the suggestion for wet wipes, hand sanitizer and loo roll.

Ear plugs and something to keep the light out, a headover works quite well and keeps your head warm too.

wrt cooking, I never rely on any sort of cooking facilities at airsoft sites, you may get lucky or you may not, but as I've never knowingly missed a meal, stick in some sort of portable stove - hexi, spirit or whatever.

A torch.

Beer. :)

Cheers

other than in the main camping area which is out of bounds during gaming no.
i did think about something like that out in the field today and will mention it when chris gets back from holiday, sure something can be sorted out easily enough.
there are some bunkers around the site but none will shelter many men at a time.

Great, tarps out of the game in camp area will be fab for social, which is what I was thinking about mainly. In HQ areas that would be a bonus and not only be practical but lend an air of an HQ to it too.

Anyone got the specs for the 6 shelter half tent the Americans could build?

if you have any tarps of your own to bring with you then that would be handy, there's plenty of trees around to string them up from!

There's two tarps around 4m x 3m I think. Happy to share!

Want some period Camo nets for the same?
Just how close can we get with modern cars, not 4x4, to the US area?

fairly close. there's a network of basic tracks around the site but the main entry road is reasonable hardcore construction and goes towards the us camp which is on the near side of the site, the axis powers unfortunatly have the slightly longer walk.
even though the site is 70 acres we are not using it all, there's no major walking at all involved.
the combat will most likely be concentrated to and thro around the centre of the site, not perticuarly far from the main camping area or carpark.

Do we have any Idea where the DBs HQ will be in relation to it/these roads.

i think you guys are camping in the combat area? which will be very close to the main bunker/trench system.
the road goes past the area of the main trench system but you will need to hand ball your stuff the last 30 metres or so, there is a small track which we managed to get a bobcat type excavator down but not passable to vehicles.
the main bunker/ trench system falls behind the us lines and may well be the DB's command point but better check with chris on that one.
if its going to rain heavily then some sort of hand water pump to clear the trench system might not be a bad idea. there are already drains off the trench system but maybe the odd bit of pumping might make thing more comfortable.
some sort of waterproof poncho to use as a ground sheet to sit on could be usefull too.
