Just in case anyone is champing at the bit to ask anything, and wondering where the heck they can do that, I will plonk this up before I place the rest of the info up during the day.

Does 'rifles only' include semi-automatics (like Garands, G43s etc) or do you only want bolties?

Cheers

Though bolties are preferred we are allowing Semi Auto rifles, though only with small 'shotgun sized' mags and ammo will be severely curtailed.

What about power? I have a gas bolt action but it's 475fps.

We are not limiting power (obviously we are at 500), but there are no sidearms, so if someone gets close your only option is retreat.

Well, retreat or cold rubber.

Not even springers? I hadn't quite absorbed the full implications of 'rifles only'. Sounds like a job for the rubber knife!

Not meaning to be negative, sounds a great event and I'll be signing up as soon as I get a pass from She Who Must be Obeyed.

Well given that some of these semi-auto pistols have the range and accuracy of many of the rifles, it would somewhat defeat the object if a squad charges with draw pistols... So we are gonna keep it simple, rifles only means 'rifles only'. :D

Personally I'll be at 350fps with my SMLE. Its loads of fun bolting without Minimum Engagement Distances.

He was being amusing, given that one of the German units present was a machine Gun Battalion.

We toyed with an MG, but have no plans to include them as yet.

It is possible to cut down M14 mid caps to shorter mags. There's guides about somewhere, maybe on the US WWII Airsoft site.

I converted M14 mags to looklike the G43. They were almost correct for that but even cut down they took about 60 - 70 rounds. It is not a hard job to do 1st mag took me a week  2nd mag 10 mins. Yeah once you know what you are doing it is not hard. PM me if you need any help

by chance, some cut down m14 mags have come my way, they dont work in my gun very well and will need messing with but its too late as abandoned my garand project now. mags are in the for sale section. i'll pickup a bolt action by september.

So we can all have proper mags, I just posted a guide on how to convert 70 rd mid caps to stubby little lo caps.

They are very reliable and fit the Garand with no problems. :)

i like the sound of this and i've just downgraded my no4 to 350fps so i reckon a polish para hat is in my future or a para helmet.just as a fall-back or for German would a Mauser m712 broom-handle with stock be acceptable?

armoury
m1a1 Thompson,sten mk2,mp40,stg44,sterling,mk2 bren gun,lee Enfield no4 mk1,Mauser Kar98, Walther ppk,smith and Weston m10 and Mauser m712
