Maybe. I'm a member of far more private FB groups than I am forums, for all sorts of different activities. It is just a platform which works and is accessible for lots of people. When yahoo killed off yahoo groups recently, some traffic migrated over to groups.io, but the vast bulk of it ended up on FB.
Josh uses a mixture of FB and dedicated websites, so a mix is certainly viable.

I tend to use fb as a communication tool more than anything. Easy to open chat and yap to a pal if they are online. My friends list is very small, mainly family, I got tired of inane stuff popping up on my feed, even if I unfollowed someone it still popped up.
I find the content quite poor in relation to a forum. Here it is easy to find an answer to something, on fb it can take ages to scroll through posts, or the same question is posted which has been answered a thousand times over. The main content seems to be posting pics of recent purchases, or pics in kit. Selling airsoft guns on there is now banned of course.
There also seems to be a plethora of fb sites about the same subject matter, almost as if everyone wants their own train set 🙂
Just read through this post, I would not like to see this forum fade away, have been to some great games through this site and still see it as the first place for me to visit, when dipping into the airsoft world we all all seem to like.
I did mention a long time ago I wouldn’t mind chipping in some money to keep this site going, I’m sure other people would too.
I went through a Covid contraction earlier this year and it’s taken a time to get well enough to go back to work ( although I’m now at retiring age!) don’t really know if I’ll ever be fit enough to do games again, but recently got back into building ww2 era guns again, which I enjoy very much, and this site was the inspiration to do that in the first place, so hopefully it will keep going, this site will always have my support.
I do go on Facebook, or Farcebook as I call it but it’s not a great format as there is a lot of crap going on, this place seems to make more sense.

When I arrange my games I always have spots which can be the whole day in the HQ living the atmosphere of radio, answering the field phones or general map making along with the responsibility of base defence, there are enough old uns like us and it is a job the youngsters don`t want they want to be all over the place. I remember Martin R and Lutz spent the whole day in the HQ with a map plotting where enemy was from radio reports and sending scouts and troops out to see what was there etc and they had a good time. Infact the last game I ran in November I spent the whole day apart from one venture out in the morning in the HQ and had a great time that was until the base was attacked and I was slotted by Brit Para only armed with rifles! then stabbed by Charlie with a bayonet. Don`t want you to miss out on a game through not being as mobile as we once were soo keep um peeled and ask if there are any more sedate spots
That might be the way to go, but I don’t know if that’s for me, I would definitely give it a go if a spot like that was available, I do like to shoot at people, which was always the main reason for doing Airsoft in the first place!
I like doing the HQ, signals, supply runs or whatever stuff as it is nice day out wearing my gear, but I do get stuck in to the odd firefight as well, even if it is only with my springer P38 😆
Lurking at the back slotting people (like Gordon) with my rifle is also fun.

Doing base defence will always in our game plans get you trigger time
Feck me good job I logged in randomly !
Glad to finally be back on the forum.
Like some other members I have had problems accessing the forum since the switch over.
Seems to be working well now.
So, for forum member's information, I get notifications of every attempt to log in to this forum, successful or not.
I see people getting passwords wrong repeatedly and getting themselves locked out for a couple of hours (a security trigger). I see people requesting a password reset and then getting the new password wrong when attempting to re-log in. I have had people attempting password resets that never reach the recipient as the forum holds an out of date or unused email address.
BUT my email address is at the top of the forum and if contacted I can help out - it is really easy to resolve issues!
Chommer's broke the forum .....after 14 years .......... 🤣
Things are slowly picking up for the airsoft world. People are coming back out of the woodwork. We will continue to post news of up coming games and news on this forum 🙂
