Just ordered a couple of the repro blankets from Ostfront. Look ok on the web, I'll report when they arrive.

The length of that bayonet I'm not bloody surprised that they don't like it up em.

Ah yes, Angels sale.

Me and Kroot got a box to hold stuff for us, some light fingered twazzock helped themselves to 2 reasonable US M43 jackets and some assorted webbing items we had put in there!

However the team did obtain a fair number of Adrian Helmets and I got myself a nice French Capote (pinned back coat).

To the tune of "Mademoiselle from Armentières"

Napoleons army ran away, As you do
The guard stood firm for Frances Pride, As you do
They said the guard will stand and die
But we heard what their Colonel cried
It wasn't pretty I tell you.

It was very, very, busy, there were hundreds of people rummaging through boxes and racks, and there were bargains to be found although the british battledresses were pretty much all 49' patt/greek/dutch, and the german tunics and trousers were mostly swedish, along with some east german webbing thrown in, there was definatly enough there to put a pretty passable ww2 airsoft loadout for not a lot of moolah. I fished my airborne lid out of a box of about 100, all in various states of repair, omg I have never seen so many hats of all descriptions in all my days....

Thought i would ask as ive just read somewhere else that they were all poorly made/converted RAC helmets with poorly made repro web chinstraps

However for £60 with the AK bits still a bargain

TBH even if it was a dodgy rac/tank shell helmet conversion, it can still be sorted out and at £20 with its helmet net it is good enough for airsoft for a while untill I sort it out. :)

Yeh, The significant difference between your coat and mine was causing much head scratching!

The collar patches on mine are wrong for metropolitan forces, most likely they were made wrong for a production due to poor research (dark blue numbers on a Khaki patch, I may get some red fabric dye in a pen and change the numbers to a proper infantry red)

But this does mean that for the next 1940 game, there is 2 French Poilu in close to suitable kit who would likely want to attend. Maybe I had better learn some French now!
