stamped with three holes in a triangle near the chin strap bales

The number of holes varied;
MkII no.2a helmets were reject manganese steel shells, painted black with 1 hole in the brim.
MkII no.2b were mild steel strip with 2 holes.
MkII no.2c were mild steel plate with 3 holes, seems more common.
MkII no.2d were mild steel with 4 holes. The above 3 were all intended to be painted grey.
To meet a shortage in the Home guard stocks in late 1940, early '41 several 100,000 were painted khaki and issued.

Nice work! Does this mean you can survive mortal injuries to the ear lobe now? Or is it just a license to give the 'kiss of life' to anyone you fancy? :lol:

Epic, made by SEMS which is the same company "Sturm" I am told. They seem quite good, but time will tell if they stand up to a pounding at Devil's Hill.
