Just because he is famous does not mean his judgement is sound.

ATF Texled 44' Dot camo set

Do they do a Texled dot? I thought the dot was made in China, mine certainly is.

A rather splendid set of Luftwaffe registration plates for the Krad from a clever chap in Poland :)
-- attachment is not available --

Also brought a NOS Honda CB500 fuel Petcock to replace the sh*tty, leaky, Chang one fitted that's making my garage stink of petrol!

“I wanted to come to the Volga at a specific location at a specific city. By chance it carries the name of Stalin himself. So don’t think I marched there for this reason – it could carry another name – but because there is a very important goal... this goal I wanted to take – and you know – we are very modest, we have it already."
Adolf Hitler, November 1942

"Comrades, Red Army men, commanders and political workers, men and women guerrillas! It is on your perseverance, staunchness, fighting skill and readiness to discharge your duty to the country that the defeat of the German-fascist army and the liberation of the Soviet land from the Hitlerite invaders depend! We can and must clear the Soviet land of Hitlerite vermin."
Joseph Stalin, November 1942

Here's what I've accumulated over the last 3 - 4 months

A genuine greatcoat, rather mothed around the collar but I've got an idea of how to repair/disguise the damage.

A genuine jerkin, certainly looks more the part than my other one, needs a bit of stitching and 1 button

Various bits and pieces, mostly acquired at Beltring

A couple of metal receivers for my thompsons, only took 6 weeks to prise them out of customs

Copies of the revised british equipment and weapons 'bibles

next lot aren't really ww2 but useful for camping, a tilly lamp, kelly kettle and some cooking utensils

Finally just arrived repro russian gas mask bag and leg wraps, these were just in time for the game that I won't be attending now :(

This morning from Derby's Cattle Market Carboot:

A 1943 dated British B167*-type ammo tin (filled with old tools) for £2(including the tools inside)!!!
Upon arriving home and checking out the tools inside, I found that one of the largest spanners in there (1 1/4BS : 1 1/8W) had a 'broad arrow' forged into it! A few others have crude 'broad arrows' stamped onto them. I then found a MkII No.4 "pig-sticker" bayonet (no scabbard though) and a '44 dated and 'broad arrow''d jack knife!
Unfortunately the jack knife has seen better days, and has clearly been used as a workshop tool/knife for most of it's life, and is missing it's hoof pick (but I might rebuild it using spare parts from one of the 1950s ABL Belgian ones that can be bought dead cheap).

*(Box used to hold 18 2" mortar rounds, 37 No.77 grenades or 4 3" QF howitzer rounds)

3x Osprey books: (they were on special offer)

ww2 infantry tactics (squad and platoon)
ww2 streetfighting tactics
The soviet rifleman 1941-1945

I personally thin that theyre' bloody brilliant. Black and white pictures, lots of info and also some pretty drawings, with explanations! Anyone elses opinion?

Osprey can be hit and miss, it depends who has written them.

But the green 'tactics' ones I have found pretty good, for all periods.

Put it in a pillowcase and pop it on the couch. A day or two of sittin on it will get rid of the stiffness.

Just got myself a pair of US buckle boots and a pair of webbing shoulder pads for less than £20. :good:

From Derby Cattle Market carboot on Sunday:
Another British type up-draught hurricane lamp, in really good usable condition - £3.50

From Willington Power Station carboot today:

Not really something I can skirmish with/use when camping, but;
A medium sized 1944 dated military issue micrometer, in board-arrowed and numbered wooden instrument box - £7
