2 Small packs from a certain shop in Oxford
Another couple of those British plastic badges, not far from the full set of Regimental and all but two of the Corps.
M44 German tunic from Dog Green1. Not bad and quite cheap.

3 more Zelts for tent goodness :happyclap: Unfortunately the buttons are all stitched to tight to the hole making it very difficult to button up, also one in completly wrong position. The eyelets for the poles also to small, so filing down of the pole necessary  Will take off all the buttons and refix when I have more time.

The material seems better quality than my other one though :good:

Also pleased to find that the period camp bed cheap off ebay fits in :good: though had to cut the legs down

Seems surprisingly sturdy even in strong wind :good:

Actually the poles are too large for the eyelets[grommets]. They are Swiss poles and have a different profile to the German poles.
They are too long also.
Can I suggest you dont use the bed in the zelt?
Unless you and the bed are quite short you risk rubbing on the zelt, if it rains you could get wet.

[quote="prideofengland"Unfortunately the buttons are all stitched to tight to the hole making it very difficult to button up:

Ah, very hard on the finger tips! The easy solution is do it up and leave it done up i.e. use it as a tent and not a garment. That way the only buttons that will be used are the ones to let yourself in and out, which will work looser with use.

I have seen (somewhere) doing without the central pole and instead use four long sturdy rods running up each corner seam to the apex, thus freeing the floor area, possibly able to use a cot diagonally with less risk of touching wet canvas. If I had the opportunity then that's what I'd do in battle (meh, OK more feasible out of battle when hanging around for long periods, like supporting rows of zelt tents with suspended wires holding up the apexes.)

My first thought was 'genius' why had I not thought about that?
Then I thought 'how do you close the tent if there is a pole in the way?'
The buttons are tricky to fasten without the pole being there.

Sage advice from two of the forums stalwarts :good:

I realize the swiss poles are too long and have cut one down so hopefully will be the correct height. The grommet on my other zelt was much larger and easily accomadated the swiss poles, but no problem sorted out now.

As for the camp bed luckily both it and myself are short  even in a 4 zelt tent there was clearance all around and hopefully if Tom has his ready we will share a 8 zelt tent so a bit more room. Im all for living the experience but as comfortably as I can make it  If I end up getting wet I will know to take your advice next time

Yes Chommers your probably right about leaving it buttoned up as a tent, and I am so easily talked out of doing work!

I keep mine buttoned in groups of 4 and 8. That way I can grab what I need and not be doing buttons up all day.
Some repros have equal spacing on the buttons so wont button to originals and to the better repros.
The pitch of the buttons changes towards the apex and the base.
I've only once used a cot in an 8 section zelt, I didnt get a good sleep and now prefer to kip on the floor, be it a 4 or 8 section.
16 section tents are ok if you dont expect too much wind.

A Mark II helmet and a GS Cap.

And, err, 25,000 BBs. Not all for me I hasten to add.

Cheers
