My latest little toy

Kodak No.2 Box Brownie (model F from 1924)

Film holder, reel and back plate

Shutter internals

Replaced the red window at the back with a piece of plastic cut out of a CD cover and coloured it red with a marker.
Replaced the top viewfinder window with another piece of plastic but covered it with Scotch Tape to give it that frosted effect.
Shutter was cleaned and I used a few droplets of gun oil on the pinions of the mechanism. It fires like it did 83 years ago ;)

Kodak produced literally milions of them, they're cheap and easy to fix and clean. I already love it to bits!

Taking it with me to Passchendaele this weekend

I hope the buckle on your garand belt lasts a bit longer then the last one I ordered from 'Cost a Fortune'. It's made from the same monkey metal as the outer barrel for the TM Thompson. It's rather fragile. :?

Just received my Garand belt from SoF.

Dont put too much strain on the buckle at the front, I had 2 snap on me within minutes of hooking it up

I was a bit worried about that, but I've had it on three times while I set it up, and even my mighty Belly Savalas didn't break it. Yet.

Watch this space.

Hehehe, I would try and re-enforce it somehow, i use cable ties on the two uprights of the buckle, seems to do the trick nicely :)

I have an original Garand Belt now, which is made out of proper metal, but I rarely play with my M1 so only wear it for photos like:
