mmmm... nice... :)

now you just have to blanco it all!

The left hand water bottle carrier is interesting...

er... just noticed there are a few oddities in the way its been put together. Nothing major....

The loop on one of the braces on the front... have both braces got loops on them??

When putting the braces through the buckles the half of the buckle with a section missing always goes closer to the end of the brace. This is minor but means that the entrenching tool sits on top of the other stuff as the braces go behind it. It makes it a bit neater... I didn't know about this until a month or so ago!

apart from the green beret, insignia and holster, it all came as one bulk ebay lot, already put together like that, rather than a specific order by me.

I think it's a large pack, rather than a small one too, and yes, it is missing the straps.

Not bad though for £12, even if it is missing a few straps! :D

i must admit, i know next to nothing about brit kit, so Gadge is being invaluable at the moment!

do'h... of course its a large pack... (gah!)

In which case you're missing some utility straps as well as the L-straps... :)

A very good deal for £12! :)

I think the loop on the left front of the braces is actually meant to be at the back where the braces cross over - they are just put on front to back in the photo.

If you unbuckle them and buckle them up again this time making sure that loop is to the back the other strap can then be threaded through the loop. If that makes any sense.

Get me, I sound like a pro.

Yesterday at the Schaffen/Diest oldtimer fly-in I bought two DI crests:

One was a rare post-war 2nd Armored 502nd Military Platoon crest,
The other was of the 2nd Armored 142nd Signal Corps.

Still need a Signal Corps BOS disk if I want to change over my Class A completely from Engineers to Signal Corps.

You may be right... but I do wonder if he's been sent two straps with loops on them, rather than one with and one without. So one loop has been used already and the other hasn't...

No it was a normal pair of size 'normal' braces, just had them on the wrong ends.

All that webbing was in very sound order other than he blancoed belt.

nah, they were just put on wrong, Gadge helped me sort it all out, and picked me up a small pack and straps for the large pack from crich yesterday, so i've got all my webbing sorted now. Well, i will have when i've blanco'ed it all!

Oh, and the unusual webbing water bottle had a 1953 date on it, so it's not that interesting now! ;)
