There were a lot more taken by Fatbear, I think.
You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier
waiting for webby too.
Photos look great. I wish I could have come... unfortunately familial duties and sick cover meant I had to pull out at the last minute. Shame as I spent ages sewing a proper eagle on my tunic at a jaunty angle
I miss ww2 airsofting!!!!
any one got a FFwd button to the next one I can use?

.........there sure were.
I`ll have them up by the end of the weekend.
A Proud Member Of 'Team Spleen!' who play mainly at Gunman Airsoft, Tuddenham, Suffolk.
As promised.
For me ITP was mixed; as indeed are most themed events.
Karl and I arrived just before dusk, and having set up camp went on towards gaining more points for our 'mountain man certificates' as we fought in vain to light the disposible BBQ. With a pile of raw meet being the only food alternative to an MRE4T we went on to boil evrything and brown it up over the one coal that actually lit. ( That`ll teach me to buy bbqs in the sale!).
The Bristol Recon contingent
As other players arrived and pitched up, Karl and I downed a bottle of WKD ( .....only one as Karl doesn`t drink) and some bolied/bbqd meat. Eventually the comedy entertainment arrived and did a brilliant stand up visual comedy act based on setting up a 'easy up' tent. As the vodka slowly got to needing replenishment, I realised that this was in fact Nick and Phil trying to set up camp!
After the Laurel & Hardy routine and the dishes were over, we adjurned to the main social inside the safe zone.
To my glee, there had appeared, as if by magic, an airsoft shop selling all manner of goodies. To celebrate finally getting to be sweet ( that's a laugh ) SIXTEEN, Nick opened his birthday cake to a chorus of 'Happy birthday to you'. This was promptly troughed by a ravenous group of Nazis, Tommies and GIs.
As the liquirish schapps, supplied by a friendly Jerry, began to take its toll, those nice goodies looked even more appealing - and the wallet became too heavy to carry.........so I lightened it a little by exchanging some of those heavy notes for a very nice shorty shotty - like Jocks. ( Ideal for the Zombie game!!)
As the night drifted on, Karl and I retired to the tent ( not in a biblical sense). Reminiscent of comedy hour on the radio, the double act gave another sterling live performance a couple of hours later, as Nick painted the woods pizza coloured while Phil tried desparately to make sure Nick was only sick OUTSIDE the tent!
............oh; and we did some airsoft the next day.
What? You want to hear about that? Ok.
Annoyingly, there were droves of non-WW2 dressed people turn up for the German side, as I understand the locals hadn`t realised it was a themed game. The amount of vehicles, and the times we got to ride in them made up for this - and often us US forces got to charge into action in either a jeep or GMC. I was amazed at the lorries off road ability - even dragging itself out of a 3' deep rut.
Karl (middle) speeds into action Willys style

Kickoff was just after 10, with a defence of the village game ( well a pile of plywood cutouts). The Germans looked to be taking it but were driven off by a BR led counter attack on the flank follwoed by an artillery strike. We kept the pressure on to attack their base ( a tent) taking many casulties. The last game before lunch had us rushed in vehicles across the site to attack Falasie ( crossroads with a tower), while an 88 was firing at us ( marshalls lobbing pyro and a gun firing in the woods). We retailiated with mortar fire. We failed to take it by lunch, so retreated and were chaufered back in 'battle taxis' for a rematch after lunch.
Karl in action
This then led to an attack the 88 game and finally a bridge assault across a suicidal bridge. Phil joined me in a banzai charge with 2 mins to go and we got pummeled by most of the German side. Great fun. It was nice to see the WW2 people we now know once more, and to see Phil and the guys from UA there - even if they were 'nasty old Germans!!'

Herr Phil
As for the next WW2 game "I don`t know where, don`t know when.......but I know we`ll meet again one sunny day"
Nice write up and pics, Fatbear - thank you.
