If I can make it I could bring my Brit paras or Germans, painting them for a tournament at stafford games for March.

"Will you stop talking about the war!!"
"What, you started it!"
"We did NOT start it!"
"Yes you did, you invaded Poland..."

That bloody tiger was the bane of my bolt action existence. The sole reason I bought a QF 17pdr and M10 was to take that thing out.

I've got a load of North African desert houses and sandbags too.

Ralph

Oh I see how it is..........your eager for another beating from the mighty dak! It was a while ago but if I recall didn't our last game end with your almighty Infantry charge against my entrench force, 88's mg34's and a ton of rifle fire killed your force to a man! Good times

Seems like a perfectly reasonable plan to me.

I've fired a bullet on every continent. Nearly hit someone, too.

Leave it to a German to hide behind a wall and call it victory. Not very gentlemanly. I say good day to you sir!

To be fair the german army is great on the defensive. In hindsight I should've just taken a load of howitzers and dug you out but hey... It was a glorious charge and I believe even Second Lieutenant Granger made it to the enemy lines with his trusty radio operator. Good times.

Ralph

Sometimes you just don't have a choice. Trying to cross open ground to get to a heavily fortified base, where the objectives are, is never going to end well for the attacker. Still, they did their duty in spite of the odds.

Next I shall bring the Churchill AVRE and we'll see how your walls stand up then!

Ralph

Tell that to your fallschirmjäger. Boom! And don't get me started on how good the Churchill actually was, no one wants that.

I like how we've successfully hijacked this thread for our own personal grudge match! :D

It didn't start off all that good, didnt most of the flaws only get sorted by the time the mark VII came out lol, i admit they had mighty thick Armour but in a one on one fight ill take a Tiger I any day.

Plus in the last game didnt my Tiger (which only normally misses) destroy one Churchill and slightly damage the other! i could be a little confused tho as it was a little while ago lol

oh yeah, oppps sorry all

Actually the mkiii was a good tank and capable of defeating anything other than a tiger in a 1 on 1 (the first tiger kill was actually by a Churchill). The armour was thick enough to withstand the 88mm though the 6pdr wasn't good enough to penetrate tiger armour at long range, but could penetrate the front armour up close with the APDS shell. Bit unfair comparing a tiger to a Churchill, especially given how rare the Tiger was in the first place and that the Churchill was designed for infantry support (the opposite is true for the tiger) . Long range, the Tiger has the advantage but close up, the Churchill did. The Churchill gets a bad rep for being slow but actually it was designed to be. The fact it could and did (repeatedly) take out Tiger tanks was a well known fact to German commanders. Funnily enough the Churchill lost the APDS shell when it was upgraded to take the 75mm gun, though by that time the m10 17pdr and sherman fireflies were attached to Churchill troops so I suppose it's a bit of swings and round abouts.

Yes the Tiger did kill my AVRE but I also remember taking out that panzer iii with my trusty Churchill. Good old tank.

Ralph

Ok the format will be (as it stands) - hoping to run 4 tables for the tournament and maybe a demo one or two for non players to have a go , will be run over the friday and saturday night

though i guess we some effort we could have more tables if needed

750 points only 1 reinforced platoon dice limit tbd from any theater selector from a army book , 9 dice max , SCENARIOS will be chosen closer to the date after army lists are in to try keep them balanced :)

No more than 1 flame thrower - vehicle mounted and 1 infantry one

2 Kieran - Russians ? or heer
