Some of you may have noticed that I've been promoting Operation New Dawn , a 24 hour modern day MILSIM event under the company name of Advance to Contact over on ASCUK .

Having been involved in running games both on here and at other larger events, I have now put together a company to run large MILSIM events . Having just been made redundant , the timing was right to take the plunge . For the record , there is a strong line drawn between my work here with CiA (non profit) and the commercial A2C which is entirely my concern , albeit with a lot of help from the Comrades .

Anyway , disclaimer over , my first event is the 7th and 8th June. It's modern day , it'll be large and it'll be good or i'll die trying . Booking have been going for awhile and the numbers are looking excellent . So if a bit of modern day is your thing check this out , you can book on line .

http://www.advancetocontact.co.uk/

And yes, it is the same site as Bryansk . :D

I'm working that weekend but I wish you every success in your new venture mate. I know it it'll be a stormer of a game.

I recommended this game to a few airsofter friends at my "place of work" and I know they're looking forward to it.

When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!

Mmm, game details looks good on the link. Just a question, is there a set camping area or will players be carrying all their gear and harbouring up wherever and whenever their commanders see fit, just looking for an event with a real hardcore milsim feel to it and this does sound close. I would ask on the ascock forum but I`m banned. :)

Hi Slick

Both sides will opearate from a fixed TAC HQ , however you won't be able to get your car within a mile of it and the only other transports are all ex mil .

That said lots of opportunity for forward OPs , sniper work and general sneaky beaky stuff.

Hi, thought it would be OK to pop a thank you up to Old'un, Chomley and Kermit for all their hard work at the A2C game weekend just gone. I had a brilliant time and got well shot up. It was at the same site as Bryansk, hosted by the always great IED guys.

It was nice to see a few other CIA people there so hello to Steve D and there were some guys I met for the first time (in the back of a truck with a gun mounted and firing an MP40, awsome) so hello to them!

There were a few moment when we were at war with Holland but you might need to have a look on the A2C forum for details on that.

Anyway, see you again in Sicily!

Heh, it was a bit of a hoot wasn't it! SteveD looks so wrong in Marpat

Guy used the whole of the site for this milsim event as there were vehicles all over the place including a phalanx of buggies from Holland - the name 'Crazy Dutch' was very apt for that lot! Great blokes though, well spoken and jokey which always impresses me when in a foreign tongue. A few squaddies among them and played very hard-core, just right for IED's side.

PSF were a sneaky bunch who played their game very well - Coalition got themselves together on Sunday a bagged themselves a win for that day making up for the Federation win on Saturday.
Awesome night convoy - awesome destruction of the mine (heh, great being part of a demo team!).
Porta was bonkers with his flat bed and mounted m/g (and a great help ferrying players and kit up and down site  )

I had a mission on Saturday as a scientist carrying details of locations of uranium. Kermit and Snyper had similar roles but I chose to wear a white lab coat and I managed to avoid being caught as I traversed the site for five hours (staking out camps, standing by roadsides, crashing through undergrowth). I bang-killed one Fed who walked to three feet from me and gave me no choice but to bump him. Other close calls were being six feet from a four man Brit foot patrol who looked the part and patrolled correctly but and were checking their arcs but just weren't seeing what they were looking at and I twice got looked at straight into the eyes! Puts to rest the arguments for 'best camo' - I was wearing white carrying a silver case a should have stuck out like a some thumb! Heh, at five and a quarter hours I'd had enough so sought out a PSF patrol and gave myself up.

Top marks to Guy - loads of tired but happy players at the end, which is what it's all about.

Yes although we're not going to discuss a commercial modern milsim event at length on this forum 8) however all I can say is cheers to my Comrades for coming along, sweating their nuts off and having a good time . Great to see Tony again , he's been missing for too long ! Also hello to Peppered , Steve D , Lonewolf Gregg (also been lying low for a while) and the Gunman crew .
Did we take large props into the wood and blow them up  er there's a theme here as all you regulars know . :slap:
Good to see the "modern dayers" playing well though , restored my faith in the genre somewhat . Having been out of that scene for quite a while now it's easy to dismiss all non WW2 players as untermensch , which was blatantly wrong . Mind you , quite a different game , and we didn't get pissed all weekend

Was a great game, that marpat was mainly far east stuff, I orderd a whole load out from the US which never arrived on time, its here now, 2 days 2 late, be useful for A2C2,

The crazy dutch had so much energy, the crept out of camp about 03:00 hrs & raided the Coalition camp, it was so quiet I was woken by the sound of pyros & the words "its time to wake up" echoing across the valley, they filmed it all & escaped with the enemy flag, I had a good time riding roung on the back of the flat bed with Porta doing drive by shootings on the coalition :wink

ROFL!

That was a cracking weekend, and possibly one of the best modern weekenders I think I've ever been to. Hats off to Guy for getting it all organised.

Here are the pics (I'm about to post them on ASCUK too)
