Mr Flibble, what's it like getting hold of things like say M1A1 Carbine Parastocks around your neck of the woods?

For a repro-stock I'd have to get it from the same dealers as you do, I think. There might be one or two local dealers that have them.

The stock is not a critical part of a fire-arm so I could import one without too much trouble. I might still need a consent from the local police to do it.

Woo! Hoo! My M42 wool tunic arrived from www.reenactment-box.com today. Very good quality and nicely fitted at the waist. Came with belt hooks, EKII ribbon and red-piped s/boards, postage free. Recommend you check out the site - if he's not got it on there, email him - he's quick to reply and most helpful.

Yep, Pirschen is pretty good. How long did your stuff take to arrive? My last order took almost 4 weeks!

Doing WW1?
They are a wicked bit of kit, though not really WW2 friendly.

I seem to remember some reports of their use in the 21st army group area of operations. Tommy Atkins didn't take kindly to their use I recall. Rather unsporting?
As a souvenir it could have been someone elses souvenir first? A frenchmans relic of his time in the first war?
It could also be that they were issued to the workers on the atlantic wall or second line troops, todt or RAD.
I'd not credit it as a front line issue bit of kit but you never know in this game.
The one saying thats stands true is 'never say never'.
It just needs some back up.

Hardback book "Waffen SS at War" by A.J. Barker. Quite a few good pics, and a potted history with some great individual stories.

Front sight and cone assembly for the MG42. Now to work out how I'm going to make it fit.

I mean knuckle dusters wern't "standard issue" but I wouldn't be suprised if a handful brought them for personal "protection"...

Weren't American Airborne units issued with them? It's on their pre D-day kit list I'm sure.

On their was as we speak, US 1942 dated gaters, 1942 dated suspenders, 1945 dated belt and M1 helmet net and leather strap. Sadly the strap is from SOF so will be a bright orange. So looks like I'm going to have sort that out.

I've got the same issue. I've just had to buy one form SOF.

Anyone have any good remedies for curing its tangonitus?
